Context

The table collected the input from posters as of 2026-09-12, from the original bug report by @Kerfuffle: Jolla Phone does not support 5G for several providers in several countries and then made a wiki page for edition by others. I don’t know how to make it a universally editable wiki. Please moderators do something (thanks @filip.k).

The table includes the name of the reporter, for the reason that the table initially copied information reported by others, so traceability was needed. For new entries where the reporter knows what they are doing, the name isn’t needed, though it can be useful if other users want to send a private message about a city or country.

The names don’t use @ because of a limitation in Discourse to 10 user mentions in a post.

The model is based on VoLTE provider support.

If 4G is displayed most of the time

Android phones report “5G” when the 5G capability exists, while SFOS reports “5G” only when the actual 5G bands are in use for high bandwidth transfer. Seeing “5G” for short time or occasionally and 4G most of the time is a sign that 5G is actually supported.

If SFOS reports 4G, it is valuable to make a speed test from the internet and report the download/upload speed rather than reporting “does not work”. It really could be that 5G speeds are achieved.

Therefore many of the initial “does not work” reports or conflicting results that aren’t documented with actual download rates could be misleading and are still worth of double checking

I edited it.
After some testing and monitoring:
At work i have solid 5G and on the move at the same spots/areas where my provider supports it. So the 5G implementation works for my provider.

In Switzerland, all three network providers are supported: Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt. Wingo uses the Swisscom network.

Edit (13.9.2026): I only can confirm Sunrise-Speeds: Indoor up to 500/500, outdoor up to 750/400. Depends heavily on where you are, of course.

B.t.w. 4G offers a more consistant connection and speeds up to 300/300 indoor, outdoor same.

5G is nowhere near the announced speeds, of course (up to 2Gbit/s ), but 4G gets the promised 300/300. Again: Depends heavily on where you are, of course.

I know, the question wasn’t about 4G, but //warning: personal opinion!// I’d definitely prefer a omnipresent and well maintained 4G network coverage over a unnecessary 5G network with more towers and therefore radiation. 5G (and 6G even more) are meant for very specific, mostly industrial scenarios, not for common use. //End of personal opinion//

Done.
Great initiative!

T-Mobile PL: I have 5G, but I can’t confirm the exact speed because my plan has limitations.

As said in that original thread, my Jolla phone also didn’t have 5G on Odido in the Netherlands. I’ve tested the speeds; it was (poor) 4G only.

I added your report. Sorry to have forgotten about the actual report, as I mostly read the comments and someone reported it worked with that operator. Note that you can edit the table and add yourself other reports if you like, if you are able to test other operators, other locations, or if you can document download rates.

Took the occasion to edit the table with my fastest speed test

Thnx for the effort. I’ve already returned my phone so I personally won’t make additions. Hope your overview will help Jolla figure this out. I’ll be lurking about to see if the issue gets solved so I can mark the report as resolved.
