I’m having big problems with mobile data on Sailfish… my 10v has android 13…can i also use the sw binaries A13_5.4_va_zambezi.img when installing sailfish?
or do I have to flash sw binaris A14_5.4_va_zambesi.img?
there is nothing to set in app. just keep it running to get notification about discharged battery
Do not use the binaries from November 29 (v5a), only those from August 21 (v4b). The ones from November are broken, they have issues with Wi-Fi, mobile data and the like.
I solved the problem with the mobile data… I have turned off the unlocking function (pin)
So removing the PIN check, solves the supposed race condition and no multiple reboots are needed to get mobile working?
yes sir i have removed the pin check (sperrbildschirm)…and mobile data works without reboot…
So many funny surprises within this OS. Removin the Pin would never come to my mind I guess
Save your stupid comments you have not been asked
Oh, I meant the SIM PIN check and I not only have problems with mobile data but with mobile in general until I reboot a couple of times and by chance it works. If it isn’t working, it complains that the SIM isn’t inserted after unlocking the SIM with the PIN and I try to activate mobile if it doesn’t automatically.
I’m a heavily cellphone daily user and I migrated from iOS last year, tried postmakeros(oneplus) & ubuntu touch(oneplus/pixel), and finally chosen sailfish with Xperia 1ii at the last stop(1 IV/V also have a great possibilities when 10 IV/V reached a stable state I think). If you don’t always trying to catch with the latest firmware, and looking forward to a mostly open firmware and customizable android environment, besides android firmware are mostly can be privacy safety, I kind of feeling sailfishos is already the best bet, until there are good postmakeros candidates which also have a decent hardware, it could takes something like 3-5 years i felt.
Can I ask in passing pls - you use the fone part or do you mean you’re a heavy data user?
A fone is a fone is a fone. Sailfish scores on it being a great device not just a fone.
and finally chosen sailfish with Xperia 1ii at the last stop
So you choose the Port from Thaodan?
How it is? Speedwise and Cameras (Fotos), i know the Problem with the Videorecording, maybe it works under Waydroid with Opencamera?
Data user. I live in PRC so nearly all payment I’m using everyday are on phone, I choose the os base on Linux terminal app compatibility, android running environment compatibility, also hardware needs to be as decent as possibly because I play emulator game casually. Sailfish is currently the top one I found satisfied everyone of these aspects.
They all works just like Xiii I have. Including video camera shooton native camera and waydroid, waydroid and app support works as expected as well. Microphone are a little bit tricky, but can be fixed as usable, but no echo cancelling.
Wait, how do you live without alipay/wechat payments? Seems like scanning qr codes for paying even for a hotdog is a must in china? Do these work with sfos browser?
App support for those purpose
Oh so at least one payment option that doesn’t require google spynet, cool, I thought sfos in china would be unusable with all that qrcode paying stuff going on, cool!
Beautiful country. I’ve built 7 mobile networks there (4 in HK!). Data intensive!! When you come to replace your fone, take a look at the C2 Reeder by Jolla. I’m impressed so far.
yeah, I run both appsupport for local must-have apps which i suspect they are harmful to privacy and only connected to the main environment with kdeconnect, also base on the fact aliendalvik won’t opensource so I don’t trust their safety at some extend. Besides I run a clean waydroid(best to be build by yourself) in together to run personal apps with google play store environment. Besides I run couple few of docker containers in the machine, so is quite a capable phone I’ve ever been used.
Haha yeah, I’ve been visiting HK for couple few times before covid, my data package are always insufficient I felt, I can’t leave google map alone otherwise will lost in that city no matter what. C2 looks pretty impressive, only thing stopped me from buying first is their CPU choice is kind of frightened me, but from the video now they looks quite juicy though XD.
