Xperia 10 V support?

Oh, so google play is needed, bummer, was hoping the way they cut access to huawei phones china retaliated by allowing microg instead (or huawei app gallery hms replacement), which would be a win for foss in a way, anything to cripple that american walled garden I guess

overall google service is not available over here. I’m both a developer and SE so google is a must for me. Privacy environment over here is not good, so initially I was after a system that could provide me a two separate environment which I can have both. Pretty amazingly this phone satisfied my requirement.

@eminarcissus
CPU of the C2 is on par with my XZ2 Compact (Snapdragon 845) and sometimes feels a bit faster on C2. But the 8GB RAM on the C2 are a dream, i did not get it full even with disabled swap.

Got to test that too, sounds really interesting. Initially I saw a test video on youtube which looks quite laggy at first, seems newest firmware works just on par with XIII.

No idea where you are but I spent a lot of time in Beijing and Guangzhou.

I think the HK Chinese are born with a SIM card reader built in now!!

Should say I’m an infrastructure guy not terminals. Been dangled from helicopters many times. Great fun in HK and BJ.

Lags occur sometimes on the C2 (when tracker3 is running/scanning and AppSupport is booting up). Sometimes there seem to be other reason for it, but i did not investiagte it because i can live with it when it happen rarely and I think Jolla will iron this cosmetical-bug out after adressing the real important ones.

I find it fascinating how europeancentric OS can be usable in china, but sadly starting a topic on that will get the flaggers in a frenzy so pointless, will PM you before a trip to china for some tips, always assumed sfos was dead in the water there, amazing stuff thanks

Yeah, you simply a dead man if not connected over here, public transports, payment, purchase meal, whatever, just on your cellphone. I’m fortunate we are not lockedown anymore, those days without a cellphone you can’t even get out of the house lol.

I’m quite curious is C3 also a libhybrid supported or they are built on top from the native driver like postmakeros? I’m also considering to working on 1 IV porting tasks as well just felt like if there aren’t usable appsupport it doesn’t makes too much sense working on the task though XD.

NP, just remember always have a working solid proxy plan before the trip, don’t setting those up after arrived, that will be painful. SFOS is linux, so everything have a solution, that’s exactly the best part of the system.

I didn’t know, maybe someone other here can answer to this question.

Maybe will get one for test, it could be a game changer if it were natively supported.

Yeah all official releases are libhybris based, the only non-libhybris are community ports for pinephone/pinephone pro and probably x86 from a while ago Sailfish x86 Linux Distribution for x86_64

wow, interesting to know. So they have lxc sub-system video acceleration driver compiled based on themselves, quite a challenging task.

Well appsupport is just running android in lxc container

probably those needs separate OpenGL support driver? Somehow lxc subsystem and host video acceleration can be a mess from my other system’s experience.

I’m assuming it’s just some passthrough from container to libhybris, but not sure, the hadk irc is probably the best source for details on that

gotcha, will give a shoot, appreciate for the info!
