Supposedly runs with exactly same issues as the V (there are still some kinks with android app connectivity etc), so there’s a chance both will be supported, but of course nothing official, as always, wouldn’t throw away the IV just yet

GitHub - mer-hybris/droid-hal-sony-murray I would not say they skipped it. They just demoed an even newer device. My predictionhope is that they release both at the same time.

great news, even if the 10v is rather unexciting hardware for a current 10iii owner.

will probably buy a licence, but whether i use it or not might depend on how exiting the 10vi is when it launches Q3 this year…

i really would like usb3 back on sony midrange devices, and having a higher refresh oled would be nice at this pricepoint.

It’s true but the battery life should be better if the issues currently 10III has are resolved and again stereo loudspeakers make the 10V an interesting choice which is still available in stores.

i appreciate that it may be a different calculation for others, but i don’t need hi fidelity music audio from phone speakers, certainly not as much as I appreciate fast usb transfer.

From a quick look you also get 48mp camera(?) vs 12 (but that’s doubtful as always with cameras on sfos, at least in theory), 10g less weight, bit bigger screen, plastic(is that a plus?) finish, bump in battery capacity and tiny cpu clock upgrade… Worth it, probably not, but that’s a complaint that should be lodged at sony anyway, still available device to buy is what counts really

I can’t express how thrilled I am about seeing a new (unreleased) Sailfish OS release on a new device! And it’s X10V, which means the hardware adaptation team has been real busy! I hope both X10IV and X10V are officially supported - I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

It seems like the Xperia 10 V does not have the status/notification LED anymore, so I’m hoping Xperia 10 IV will be officially supported aswell, as the 10 IV still has the LED.

Isn’t it possible in an OLED (that the V has) screen to “activate” a few pixels only to have a notification displayed with minimal energy consumption?

If they don’t want to support the 10 iv, and I wouldn’t blame them, I suggest they pass it on to the community.

Not because the IV is a bad phone but supporting too many phones takes their time away from improvements to the OS.

I agree with this. Perhaps one option is to pass on the notifications as icons to the low-power screen as it was done in the mighty Nokia N9, the base of SFOS in 2011. On my Xperia 10iii, I enabled the low-power screen but since there is just time & date + weather (MeeCast), there should be some changes to the notifications in upcoming SFOS versions im order to support this idea.

Yes, but you would “burn” the pixels.
My Xperia 10 III, highly used for Waze, is displaying burn-in of the Waze screen.
