I don’t see how that idea is falling through, most people want to charge their phones in a car at home and there it doesn’t really matter if it takes 1, 2 h from 50-100%. If you intended to power charge almost empty phones at Starbucks during a coffee break it may be a bummer but that is some rather eclectic use case, especially as the battery should get you through the day even at fairly intensive use.
