Thank you for the warm welcome and the advice for syncing Molly. I just took the opportunity and set up a recurring event in my calendar to sync/update Molly and every repomanger I am using.
Iâve also just set up an account on GitLab, which I didnât have before. My first âcontributionâ was to up-vote issue no. 134 (Allow to change password). Being new to Whisperfish and collecting my first impressions, this was one aspect I stumbled across today.
Anyway thankâs for your time and work!
Small improvements
Hi Ruben, hi direc85. Thank you very much for this update. Could you please explain how to enable Emoji15.1 support in WF. Thanx
Thanks! Emoji support still requires some manual effort. See the Emojis wiki page for instructions.
We were planning with @ichthyosaurus to make a user-wide emoji manager application, such that other applications could hook into it too. Alas, we didnât yetâŚ
I like to thank for the amazing work for Whisperfish! Meanwhile I am using it 95 % as my Signal client. There is only one thing I couldnât find yet in the forum:
When switching the network (WIFI <-> mobile data) I need to restart Whisperfish or I wonât get or send out any messages. Is this already known? If not, I will open a bug for this.
Yep, has been the case since forever now, shamefully. I should just sit down for a few hours and see how to get around it, but havenât done so far
Itâs no shame. The workaround is very easy.
The workaround would be even easier if the âshut down whisperfishâ button would be on top of the settings page. I do realize that it doesnât make sense to target an easier workaround if instead the issue could be fixed, but I experience to use this button quite often
Why? A top-to-bottom swipe is enough to shut down Whisperfish, afterwards just open it againâŚ
Not for people with the âdaemon modeâ enabled
But it should actually be rather easy to add a restart button on the pull-down in the main view, which force-restarts the connection.
Done.
I never understood why WF sometimes didnât synchronise with Android-Signal properly. Now I know
Looks like someone found a real solution too: Close websocket when keepalive are no longer received by fraukappayuwe ¡ Pull Request #347 ¡ whisperfish/libsignal-service-rs ¡ GitHub
That should really take out a major annoyance for many WF users!
