I have the same bug with Signal / AppSupport on an XA2 / 5.0.0.62.
On wifi. Not yet test on 4G data.

S1P voice calls (voip) are often very chopped up. Echo is now always so bad I can only make calls using a wired earphone/mic. (A year ago the echo was tolerable)
Signal (Molly) has been unusable over mobile when I have tried - totally chopped up.
Skype usually worked well mobile, but Microsoft is going to fix that by turning it off in May.

1/ It’s a real regression and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Our XA2 didn’t have this sound problem before version 5 with Signal.
2/ I have no sound problems with Signal on my x10iii.

I saw that this bug is not traked :frowning: We’ve got a real bug and unfortunately this one didn’t go into tracked mode :frowning:
This bug should be investigated by Jolla Ltd!
Cf : Issues using signal client and it is exactly the same bug for WA.

We still have the same bug on our XA2 and Signal with version 5.0.0.68 :frowning:

Yesterday we received a call on Signal. And the XA2 worked perfectly: no latency, no echo! Since my last message, Signal has received several updates via Aurora Store. In addition, a few days ago, I had to “reboot” the phone, and to get sound for “normal” phone calls, I had to reboot the phone three times in a row.

We’re going to retest calls via Signal to see if the bug has really gone away. I have no other explanation than the above for why the bug has apparently disappeared.

If other people who have this bug could test it on their end, it might help us understand a little better what’s going on.

Instead of reboot try: devel-su pkill adsprpcd

Works very reliable for me. No reboot tries anymore.

Why install Whatsapp from Aurora Store when it can be got directly from Whatsapp?, much less chance of the apk being “got at”.

Thank you very much! But what does this command do that needs to be executed as “root,” if I understand correctly (I’m not a developer or computer scientist)? Does it do the same thing as the function we find in the Utilities menu of Sailfish OS?

And @Edz : i agree with you and i never used WA  Just Signal !

The command was mentioned in a thread about XA2 audio problems: [3.4.0.22] XA2 phone calls no audio - #94 by benjamin . I don’t know any details, what the service that is killed is about. Just can tell that it works reliable. Sailfish Utlilities never solved my missing audio after restart - so it must be something different.
