VoLTE on Xperia XA2, if and when?

I know this is similar to VoLTE on xperia xa2
however that thread yielded no real answer to the original question. My mobile provider is shutting down all non 4/5G systems by the end of the year. Will VoLTE come to the XA2 by then or do i need to buy a new phone?

I dont want to take your hope, but i dont think, that VoLTE will ever come to XA2.
XA2 is good device, i have it als one of my Tinkerphones. SailfishOS Adaptation is 32bit (arm7hl).
AAS (Android App Support) is updated to Android 11, but i am pretty sure it will not get VoLTE.
Even Xperia 10, which is newer than XA2 doesnt have VoLTE. If you really need VoLTE - its time to switch to Xperia 10 II, 10 III or Jolla C2. From the community Ports - Fairphone 5 has VoLTE. Some other ported devices too…

Porting the VoLTE stuff from the officially supported 64 bit devices also to the old 32 bit devices would imho be a wonderful community project, if technically possible (necessary libs available for 32 bit?). I’m also highly interested, as my Xperia 10 devices all work like a charm and there’s absolutely no reason to sort them out except this VoLTE issue.

Please!!! @Jolla , think about the environment! I don’t want to trash fully functionable phones only because the VoLTE issue.

Most likely it would take a new Android version as base port - so just let go of that thought.
If it was going to happen it would have happened.
