Wasn’t talking to you
We’re just saying that it’d be better to have thread with non-working dacs and how to fix them, rather than list of working dacs
so if you just made a thread with your issue and how you fixed it and encouraged others to do the same in that thread, that would be desirable
Yeah let everyone post how their ISP doesn’t work volte and separate thread how ther vowifi isn’t working and then separate thread for sms sending, separate for receiving and two more for mms, fucking genius
You are not reading.
The doesn’t-work (and how to fix where applicable, per category if applicable) goes really well in collections.
It is the does-work that is ludicrous to list.
Yes I can, once again, this button exists

Maybe this thread is redundant. I can’t judge that. I only have experience with just that one DAC.
This thread has gotten way too heated for my taste.
And why not have a wiki of working things? If it turns out 90% works ppl will know it’s most likely to work, trying to silence ppl’s experience threads doesn’t really build that same confidence. How hurt are you by ppl reporting 3 dongles not working on day 1? Why force ppl to buy shitty dongles to force your opinion?
Oh no, how about you announce 5 times more how I’m ignored now? Liar
It’s as @attah compared, it’s as if you were listing which sdcards work with sfos. 99% dacs will work fine just fine, hell even professional studio equipment works as I demonstrated. The list is just too huge, it’d make MUCH more sense to list the problems, and not “yeap, this one works without issues” list
And what’s the problem to you, day 1 we have 3 that don’t work, why should people search the forum for xyz dac not working when there is a tested list of working ones? Just your ego
With 6 dacs in OP (one is my dumb dacless, so 5 really) we have 3 non-working, we’ll need like 400 more working to get that 99% claimed by pure theoreticians, hard sell, but pls don’t develop the wiki and just start new threads guise, why buy something that was already tested, go throw some dice, don’t you like gambling?
For the record, this is the exact reason why removing the 3.5mm port is such a terrible idea. Creating problems where none previously existed.
However, I agree with the sentiment that having a list of “tested, working” adapters is insane. USB audio class devices are generic and linux has a generic driver. It’s like having a list of “tested, working” USB keyboards. But since we’re doing the silly thing, add the Qudelix 5K to the list of working devices why not…
This isn’t insane and this is useful. I would never purchase a 100 € device like this “Qudelix 5K Bluetooth DAC Amp” without someone on the SFOS forum confirming that it works.
I considered an AudioQuest Dragonfly Copper DAC that costs 250 €. Does someone here have one? Can they confirm it works well with the Jolla Phone 2?
I don’t thing it is wrong to have a list of “tested, working” USB keyboards. There are USB keyboard reviews being published right now (maybe AI written, but that isn’t a problem), with pros and cons. I don’t have expectation that anything would be specific to SFOS, but it does not matter, the SFOS forum is just as good as a place for this information. It is where I want my information to come from: people with the same OS and hardware as I have, who can tell me practical tips and tricks. Is the cable too stiff or too long for a phone? Does it drain the battery a lot with RGB lights?
Whether it is page is a list of devices that work, a list of devices that don’t work, a list of devices with quirks; this can be figured out. If someone starts a wiki page and users fill it up with information, it’s useful.
We turn now to AudioQuest for the answer to today’s question:
DragonFly Copper maintains everything that made its predecessors such a success:
…
Meets all USB Audio Class (UAC) standards; requires no additional drivers
Until you try it and maybe the cable is too stiff and damages the phone USB. It does not have to be a software issue. Or maybe it defaults to 40% volume which to me is the same as “it does not work” (because I would never have guessed). I’m still not putting 250 € on something without practical evidence it works as expected.
(As I earlier mentioned,) the place I want my information from, as much as possible, is the community of people with the same hardware and software as I have. This place is the SFOS forum.
Back when I had my original Jolla phone, I bought a ~300€ Sena intercom for my motorcycle helmet. When I connected it to my Jolla it would say a few words and then immediately lock up when sent any command, until I did a hard reset. So I bought it back to the store, showed it to them, and got my money back. It’s been 12 years:
You can either paralyze yourself in the hope that tens of thousands of people will suddenly change and start caring when things are working, or you can resign yourself to the reality that people generally only care to write when things aren’t working. A list of “weird quirks, don’t buy” is very realistic, and likely going to be quite short. We are a very small community. A “tested, working” list is unlikely to ever contain an AudioQuest DragonFly Copper unless you buy it and try it, and even then it’s contingent on you reporting back that it works (as I fully expect it will).
For much more realistic gripes, the market is flooded with USB-C analog audio output to 3.5mm passive adapters that absolutely will not work. To add insult to injury, you go to a store and they’re not going to be properly labeled. Search up threads about people with Samsung phones and their joyful experiences of USB-C to 3.5mm adapters.
i found nice DAC where charging works perfectly while listening, i had few before what was working fine with android devices, but sailfish when power cable was connected stopped playing music. This cheap DAC from action.com (available in some EU countries) works like charm
for the outside i use Apple dac with tweak for volume level
I’ve updated the list and completed with the useful tweaks.
Thanks for the constructive answers.
