DESCRIPTION:

My new game Word Puzzle is not working on C2 properly

PRECONDITIONS:

I have Jolla1 with 3.4.0.24, Jolla C, XperiaX, Xperia 10 II with 4.6.0.15 and Jolla C2 with 5.0.0.43

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Install Word Puzzle version 0.1.5 from Chum on various devices. Game uses UDP to transmiss messages on LAN
  2. Play the game. Player names and words are transmissed to other devices but C2 reliable

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Though unreliable protocol I would expect similar behaviour on various SailfishOS devices

ACTUAL RESULTS:

All the other devices work harmlessly.

MODIFICATIONS:

  • Chum: no
  • Other: none specified

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The C2 installation is a new installation fastbooted today. The behaviour was similar also before fastboot.

I wonder if changing “suspend policy” can improve the situation?

mcetool --set-suspend-policy=early

This has been reported in the past to improve stability for some things like messenger apps (at the cost of higher power consumption).

Reference

Thanks @nephros, first impression was good. I’ll comment when testing more thoroughly.

It seems that the command unfortunately did not solve the issue. C2 is consistently weaker than other devices.
