And Tooter 1.1.8 with Amber Web Auth is in the QA in harbour and waiting to make it to chum. @molan can you update openrepos! The build is also available on github. Thanks @vige !
Quite strange, I updated the Chum version and I had to connect once again and open a tab on the browser. Installed version is 1.1.8-20.1.jolla. It sounds strange, is it?
Yes, that does sound a bit strange. I just updated my daily device from 1.1.7-1 to 1.1.8-1.20.1.jolla and I did not have to login again.
It shouldn’t open any link to grant access, right?
I removed local and cache files and installed Tooter again, but it keeps trying to open a link with the browser to grant access.
The new version isn’t in Chum proper yet? Are you on Chum testing? If you’ve removed the local .cache .local files, you’ll have to log in again. But that’s a good test of the new Auth mechanism:)
EDIT: if you HAD logged in a session could still be open and it might show you the ‘Grant Access’ screen and NOT the original login-mask. I’ve seen that a couple of times and it made me nervous too. But it’s fine. Although, I think it shouldn’t happen.
Yes I am. So why isn’t Amber Web Auth used?
It probably is
irc it is
Right, now it all makes sense. Since you removed Tooter’s config, you need to login again. But since you are already logged in in the browser, you just need to grant access.
The fact that it opens the browser and not just a webview proves that it’s using Amber Web Auth.
I actually confused Amber View and SailfishWebView
Announcing version 1.1.9. This is a small bug fix and efficiency build. Conversations where multiple parties posted pictures now show all of those correctly. Redundant (and wasteful) image attachment processing was disabled.
@molan do you have time for an openrepos release?
EDIT: github actions fixed: Release 1.1.9 · poetaster/harbour-tooter · GitHub
Tried the app with a misskey instance and it wasn’t working, with the browser always giving me an error with the authorization
Is this app only for mastodon or it’s just something wrong in the misskey instance?
tooter uses the mastodon apis, so it’ll work with anything that uses version 1 of the mastodon apis. What’s misskey?
Should be a mastodon fork with some enanchement
It does not work on sailfish browser stating browser is outdated, so i was using vivaldi for the authorization
Tooter launches the right authorization page but then, after logging in it gives an unknow error (the authorization page)
Ok, the auth is handled by Amber and so, a system webview component. As such, it could be that amber won’t work, just as the Jolla browser doesn’t. I’ll have to take a device and remove the auth token to see if I can reproduce it.
Release early, release often, cough, cough. 1.1.9-2 attempts to speed up the launching which appeared slower on the last iteration of 1.1.9.
Announcing a minor bug fix release, 1.1.9-3. The last update caused a glitch with certain attachment types in the main time lines. This is simply a revert. Coming to harbour and chum, up on github for the impatient (no need really). @molan perhaps you can push to open repos
Thanks! Already up on openrepos, thanks to Github notifications
