Announcing version 1.4.1. This release brings OPML file import. You may import OPML files from the Sources page. It is a flat import of ALL outline elements.

It does NOT take into consideration groups, since there is currently no proper way to manage this in the app. It does, however, keep the overall order, so, alphabetically sorted groups should be ‘visible’

Nice! (oh damn, forgot posts had to be at least 20 chars)

I’ve tested this with up to 400 entries. It’s slow, but I had to break up import without being able to use a worker script, so it will always take a couple of seconds longer than you’d expect!

Looks a bit strange

Yeah, it’s interesting. I don’t know where it comes from  We had tracked down a compositor bug which fixed blue tints but I think this might be a QML error I may be able to hunt down.

Nice Improvements - Thanks!

I’ve used this app for years and really value it. My only issue , on the X10 iii, is that it eats memory and sometimes results in other apps being killed. Its common for it be to taking well over 1Gb of Ram.

Is there any way this could be limited (even at the expense of performance), e.g. by having a user selectable cache size in settings? Or am I talking complete rubbish here, coz maybe this is something to to with, say, webview, which you cannot control?

No, not rubbish. There are also performance issues loading large numbers of shelved entries. It’s on the todo list. How many feed sources do you have? I have a small number (<10) and have only seen slow downs with large collections (100s via OPML import)?

Just 12 feeds which, on average, load about 30 to 40 items each with each refresh.

These are currently my feeds

Ok, that’s actually modest. There must be some redundant http request foo or the like. January.

Announcing version 1.4.5 including translation fixes, a new Norwegian translation (thanks @frankps ) and the introduction (in 2026!) of gzip compression to feed and url fetching. This speeds up feed retrieval significantly. The compressor is borrowed from @BlacksheepGER THANKS!

Up on github and open repos, coming to chum and harbour ….
