How about the preview pictures?. They won’t load on all mentioned feeds.

The only feed where the preview works is
https://ostraum.com/feed

Can you fix this in a further version?

If I remember correctly, only feeds using currently show pictures. And that’s an rss thing. But I need to revisit it. In my list about half are still using old school rss and enclosures. Some offer more than one form. I’ll see what can be done. EDIT I see you’re already making tickets :slight_smile: make a feature request. I’ll try to take some time next week…

Just a confirmation that loading atom feeds has issues. I’m investigating.

Found a new bug.

While adding the feed <![CDATA[ownsx // ]]> I get the bug with the preview picture as shown in the screenshot.

Ergh. That is a crap feed. But still, interesting bug! contains the likes of:

EDIT: but that’s not the issue. This is an atom feed, it is an rss feed and it is an itunes feed. It includes full html in the <content> sections and is, as such, not an rss feed, nor is it an atom feed. And it does not conform to the itunes standards either. I don’t know.

Dear poetaster, I am so grateful for your app, because I appreciate the lack of dustraction when reading news. But a little issue occurs when adding this feed:

The very first sync went well, but next sync I get always the message ‘xml format is not supportet’. Any idea?

So I started testing with this feed and of course, it just works. I wonder. I had marked all entries as read and refreshed this morning which left only one, the most recent entry, and that one showed up correct. There were also no errors or timeouts on repeatedly reloading. All older entries still have strange image issues, so there is a basis for comparison. I’d ask you to:

  1. edit the feed to ‘unmark’ the read status
  2. reload the feed
  3. compare the Die BĂźcherliste 2022 to the previous entries
    To confirm my findings, please. But the parser is definitely choking so it needs some work.

And of course, the second test instance, which I had added yesterday, refreshing today, just worked. Does the feed always give you an error on syncing after first adding it?

The “Bücherliste 2022” feed now works fine without picture artifacts. No glue what’s changed here.

Thanks! I’ve discovered a behaviour that I can correct (the scaling behaviour which happens on errors which is just ‘wrong’) and am going to implement a filter that will grab alternate pictures out of src-sets since it’s a good thing ™. But that feed is a bit ‘buggy’ by design!

Sorry for my late reply: First I tried „Lesestatus zurücksetzen“ with no success. Then I deleted the entry, closed the app, added again this feed: this time already the first attempt to load news failed. Do I have to reinstall the complete app? But how could I achieve to clear the hidden config files in the SFOS?

Edit: I changed the url from http to https, and suddenly it works. Shame on me.

You’re thanking me for a simple icon fix, which was an annoyance for me? And meanwhile, you really did something by fixing an issue in webview. You deserve all credit for maintaining such an application. I tried, but it isn’t easy…
