SMS text message not being sent over VoLTE on 4.4.0.72

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 4.4.0.72
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 ii
UI LANGUAGE: EN
REGRESSION: On 4.4.0.68, the SMS messages were being sent without any problem

DESCRIPTION:

Message log shows: “Sending failed”

PRECONDITIONS:

Enable VoLTE (in my case Vodafone NL, but also reported on Telegram for O2 DE)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Compose SMS text message
  2. Send it

EXPECTED RESULT:

A sent message

ACTUAL RESULT:

Message log shows: “Sending failed”

MODIFICATIONS:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

After disabling VoLTE, the message will be sent when retrying.
And sending over VoLTE worked fine on version 4.4.0.68!

I saw “blinking 4G” in the settings yesterday, after start and stop it worked again.
