SFOS Forum Viewer - feedback thread

Sync?
When using the forum viewer I do not see my browser activity synced herein.

Hmm, if I view a post on my phone X10 III, I can see in real time the post on the desktop show as read.
You don’t see that?

I think I had this “bonked” also. The login mechanism did change if I remember correctly. So, just logged out and back in. Now when I read a post on the web, refresh the app and ta-da! Synced. So a classical “turn it off and on again” might do the trick.

Does sending private messages work? I choose a user, select PN, write a Text, and where I believe I should swipe left to send, that’s not possible, the white dot for the next page is greyed out. Is there something I don’t understand?

How can I bookmark an old thread?
If I search for it, I can find it, but there is no option to bookmark the search result.
The items in the list of search results do not have a context menu at all.

First and foremost, this is a fantastic app that I use every day. Big thanks to everyone who works on it and is improving it so regularly.

I apologise if this question has already been asked, but the SFOS forum has two somewhat confusing ways of individually messaging another user: “messages" (http://forum.sailfishos.org/u/<username>/messages) and “direct messages / DMs / chat” (forum.sailfishos.org/chat/).

AFAIK, new “messages” can be sent from within the app by clicking a username, then selecting “PM” from the pulley menu. I don’t know how to view past / existing messages in the app, however.
“Direct messages” are not accessible at all from the app to my knowledge.

Is there any possibility this functionality can be included one day?

If you open Notifications from the main view pulley, then you can access PMs through the Notifications view pulley menu.

Ah, so you can. Thanks.

But still no DMs.

Feature request:
Make “select text” possible for copying a script in a forum post to terminal

On my new JP2, I enabled partnerspace to let the forum viewer “live” there to be quickly accessible. Yesterday, I had a look at crest and the forum viewer app was constantly using around 27% of cpu and more than 700mbs of ram. It had been running for many days. This seemed way too high to me. At this very moment (partnerspace disabled / app opened normally): between 5 and 8% CPU. What might be going on there?

Setting up the new Jolla 2026 (dust issue replacement). Now after installing the SFOS Forum Viewer, I can’t login. It just shows and empty white page.

You need to reboot your phone :frowning:

What is this Windows?!

Should have searched, problem:

I think it’s time to call a day. Thank you… :slightly_smiling_face:
