Since installing the latest update I’ve been getting random threads highlighted as unread, many of them I don’t remember visiting in the last year or two, if ever. If I enter such thread, it takes me to a post somewhere in the middle of it, from e.g. 2024 or so. It definitely wasn’t so in earlier versions.
Oh, and there is no option to stop tracking such a highlighted (out of nowhere) thread until I enter it and then go back to the list of topics, only then it appears.
This is weird for me, landing people on second page in stack by default (and destroying it as soon as they explore what that top left dot is, so there is no easy navigation back) felt always clunky to me. The attachedPage approach (which also quickddit used before takeover) always seemed to be more natural, you can swipe to see what extra options there are and you’re free to swipe back once your curiosity is satisfied and you don’t actually want to take action, killing the stack for swipe left locks you into taking another action just to get back to the default view (frontpage in quickddit, latest in sfv and for some reason it’s always near the top, so extra thumb exercise). I’m sure there could be some workarounds around this basic pagestack feature, but it seems counterproductive and it works quite well as is with the old quickddit approach (if you want to change font to tiny, you go left, pulldown/settings, change the option and you’re back to unnavigatable page without selecting in the top back to ‘front page’ (or don’t even wish to be 5 pages down in x or y sort order in a small subreddit), old approach, swipe right, you choose tiny and swipe back for your tiny frontpage (or that tiny subreddit after sorting for x and y and z pages down), so much simpler and consistent and don’t even start me with checking notifications, old way: go atachedPage and use pulley, can instantly go back to what you were doing, new way: go left, check notifications, now resetup your view to subreddit/time range/sort order/and navigate 5 pages down to get back to what used to be ‘swipe back’)
Also, for example Jolla’s own Mail app does the same for subfolders: you have to swipe to the third page to select a different subfolder, which then boots you to the second page again. It works well and I couldn’t imagine having the inbox view on the third page and the subfolders on the second.
Why do all posts which upload an image show as being edited, where the only edit is the address of the image?
Is this a backend forum software thing?
Or is it a forum viewer thing and can be fixed (is it even a bug?)?
EDIT:
Apparently, this doesn’t happen for all posts which upload an image.
May I repeat (yet another time) my humble request to add REMORSE TIMERS to the most important actions, like e.g. “Delete post”? By accidentally selecting from the pull down menu “Delete” (instead of the intended “Edit” option), only a few minutes ago I deleted what I spent minutes on typing, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to undelete it using the Forum Viewer. If there was a Remorse Timer shown after selecting “Delete”, I could have easily cancelled it with one tap.
So, once again, PRETTY PLEASE, consider adding remorse timers to all such important functions, they are really highly useful.
Yes, I saw that, but the key is to find the right one-liner and then know where to place it.
I actually thought about trying it myself, but I barely had time to think the thought before you had finished it.
Thanks to @Nephros I finally can use the Forum viewer!! I check the forun often from PC and it was pain in the ass to wonder ehat I had already seen, but sync work beautifully
