It causes the mission-control-5 process to be restarted
What this means? I have to say this is not familiar for me.
That mission-control process is one of the processes handling text messages. There seems to be some issue in it and based on reports by others restarting it seems to help. Anyway maybe a less bad looking way to restart it is “systemctl --user restart mission-control-5”.
Had this issue today with C2 5.0.0.77 and DNA/Finland. Tried phone restarting, no help. Network mode “Prefer 4G” and initially VoLTE was disabled, enabling didn’t help. Then killed mission-control-5 and was able to send SMS again.
Logs showed:

Should’ve tried that on C2 just now before killall.
Iam in DK, just send an SMS (5.0..0.77) C2 no problem .
Network is TDC
Had the same issue with C2, 5.0.0.77, no VOLTE, A1 Austria.
“killall mission-control-5” helped,
reboot and changing LTE to 2G, did not.
It also happens for me from times to times, i think the phone probably looses network and does not reconnect correctly. Normally with a restart it should work fine. There are also apps that restart Ofono, which could already be enough! But its an old and known bug… ![]()
