Hi all, i have notice that the GPS have “bad” precision when i’m driving.
With puremaps, if i drive fastly to a motorway, it’s good, but in town with slowspeed, it’s a little bit hard to know where to go.
I found this patch to apply A-GPS.
Source : Quick start guide v1.7.3.4
Someone already apply this patch ?
I don’t want passed with google patch as mentionned here.
So,
As we get new, real Jolla phones, can we get the GPS now working?
For all my Sony stuff, it has been that wait 20 minutes, the you have the fix, which is probably not that perfect. Slow as hell.
We should have A-GPS (location assisted by the base stations), EGNOS (GPS/Galileo Signals corrected by atmospheric correction).
Are we going to have those in the new phone?
Look, I can even help, if Jolla is listening. Drop me a line.
Thanks for feedback !
Just out of curiosity: are you using 5G?
I have 10 III and GPS accuracy drops dramatically when I switch from 4G to 5G networks.
Hi, no i’m not using 5G with sony Xperia 10 II.
I bought Sony Xperia 10 III to check improvement between sony xperia 10 II and III.
Patches supplied by that user need to be viewed critically. Some time ago they spammed the forum with lots of FUD and weird ideas. Personally I would not do it, and I wonder if these patches have ever been reviewed to determine if they should stay up at all.
