Reasons behind poor support for 10iv and v are most probably due to poor BLOBs. I have been involved in the effort to get 1IV working on SFOS. So far, we have failed miserably with b100dian due to the exceptionally poor AOSP support. Basically, we could boot into SFOS but only use the phone as a fancy heater. Almost everything was broken. 10iv/10v are probably better, but not sure how much.

As for 1IV/5IV - maybe we will have more luck if we would have Lineage OS port based on stock, not AOSP. Trying to make that happen, but the progress has been rather slow. Accidentally, Nagara platform devices are almost only Sony that has not been ported to LOS :frowning: .

I was a bit surprised that 1 iii was spared for an sfos port while it is the other way round for lineage. I would have expected that choice of model to port has some underlying mechanism that makes them automagically align.

So i guess it maybe a better idea is to put the effort/update the Tama-Port to SFOS 5.0.0.62

Maybe. It does depend on your point-of-view. In my case, my XZ2 is on the last legs and I prefer to focus on getting new device working. So, I will keep working on that and stay on SFOS 4.x with my Tama meanwhile. But if someone wants to look into bumping Tama to 5.0 series, please do so. You would need to have OBS access and I can add you to Tama project.

Is the driver implementation on AOSP between Mark IV & Mark V big? Interestingly Lineage supports the Xperia 1V & 5V, but not 1IV/5IV, maybe because the mark V is easier to port? What were your reasons to choose porting the IV rather than mark V?
BTW: I really liked your Tama-Port; thanks for your work on this compact device! :slight_smile:

Re reasons for LOS: probably no developer worked enough on it.

Re reason of choosing: it was cheaper to buy 1iv than 1v. at that time, I expected to be able to make an AOSP based port as there were no warnings regarding its state. So, I wasn’t concerned about lack of LOS port. Now working with LOS devs to make 1iv happen as I have that device already, getting help with porting from them. When ready, should be simple to add 5iv port to it as well.

WARNING: LOS DOESN’T FULLY BOOT YET ON 1IV. EVEN WHEN PORTED TO LOS, NOT SURE HOW WELL IT WILL WORK THERE AND HOW WELL IT WILL WORK ON SFOS (IF PORTED). DON’T EXPECT THIS WILL WORK OUT
