Thanks. That’s what I thought, but reading the various Fairphone 4 threads, I couldn’t find that info. So re-locking the bootloader only works for Android, not for other OSes like Sailfish or Ubuntu Touch. Good to know.

is there anybody here who has waydroid running on FP5?
@denis.robel Only when Waydroid is capable running on Android 14 base. As i know it runs only =< Android 13.

No the base of the SailfishOS Port need to be Android 13 (or lover) based. FP5 is Android 14 based.
The stock rom FP5.TT4D.A.157 is Android 13 based:

Or do you mean the base of hybris ?
Base of @mal 's Adaptation is Android 14 based. Thats why Waydroid is working on FP4 but not on FP5

Personally I don’t care about 5G, speed and power isn’t that important to me. I sometimes mention it to make clear that hardware isn’t the only reason why phones are getting outdated. Telecom is also ‘guilty’.

Hmmm, then the banking apps will not run. They need the bootloader locked. I just made this experience with e/OS/ community build where you also cannot lock the bootloader. I had to return to the official build.
Well yes, some banks need locked bootloader, but this banks also dont run on Jolla C (where the bootloader is not locked), because they find su binary in the file system.
Who rely on such apps have no choice, and need to stay on /e/os or even google android.
Happily all my 3 banks (German, Portuguese and Belgium Banks) works just fine with unlocked bootloader.

Well, the UBS banking and access apps work fine with e/OS/ official build - that’s at least helpful

Are you using LineageOS as a base? I’m asking because official FP stock OS is still Android 13 for FP4
Where did you read that? I am not aware of someone managing to run Waydroid on FP4 yet…
