Yes, I’m using F-Droid for my C2 and can’t use it for my FP4.
And I hope you will find a device that is fully supportens 
Android Apps won’t work (or even install) as community ports don’t have AAS (Android App Support). F-Droid is just a storefront for Android apps…
You may try Waydroid instead, there are some threads here if I remember right.
Thnx for the quick responses. Then I guess the best option for running Android apps on FP+Sailfish will be Waydroid. (Hopefully this will be possible after Waydroid moves to Android 14.)
One of the apps I’ll be missing is Proton Pass. It is open source, but only available for iOS and Android. Unless I’m wrong.

Yes, it works. I did only quick testing on my FP4 and FP5 so far. I’m also testing FP2 and hopefully soon I can announce it being ready for updating.

It is now possible to update also FP2 to Sailfish OS 5.0.0.76. I did some testing and all features seem to work. As mentioned already Sailfish OS 5.0.0.76 works fine on FP4 and FP5.

Hi @all, can i now use waydroid for the FP5? Does it works now? I need from fdroid aegis.
To my knowledge FP5 currently does not support waydroid. However, there are very fine 2FA native apps in sailfishos, that probably can replace aegis

I wanted to Flash a Fairphone 4 with SFOS Version from here.
in the Notes it was mentioned to update to latest Android Version for FP First, which should be Android 13.
There was a New Release for FP4 in March 2026 with Android Version 15 in it:

Should I go with that or should I stay with updating to 13? Thank you so far guys!
I haven’t tested using Android 15 base I suspect it should work but maybe I should try installing and see how Sailfish work on top of it first.

Is there AAS support for Fairphone ports on the horizon?
It would be great to know if this will happen in a near future or not.
My 10III’s battery is going worth slowly and I have to decide for my next device.
Unfortunately I need AAS for Conversations, Signal , Codecheck and XCSoar.

Jolla could help adoption by removing the restriction that limits Sailfish OS to Sony devices and enabling Android support on custom-ROM–friendly phones like Fairphone. Many people would try Sailfish OS if it were available on more practical, repairable devices; the current Sony-only limitation drives potential users away.
Requiring a paid license for developers to port Sailfish features to other devices seems reasonable and would encourage broader device support.
Sony Xperia hardware is outdated in 2026 and less appealing compared with alternatives such as Fairphone.
The Jolla Phone looks promising, and I will definitely consider it.

There is probably better explanation in somewhere of this forum. But, my understanding is that Jolla can’t officially support ports that are build on top of Lineage or other FOSS Android variants. This is the reason they have only supported Sony for long time as Sony has open device program which allows business usage.
Jolla probably could find somekind of licensing policy for community ports, but that probably would require resources which they lag greatly. Currently Jolla phone takes all available resources they have maybe for next 6 months or so
@mal I tried to flash the Fairphone 4 with Android Version 15 and it worked out of the box. SFOS image 5.0.0.72 booted correctly, fingerprint sensor, camera, mobile data etc. is working.
