The UI is actually one of the reasons I bought the latest Jolla phone
. I find it wonderfully futuristic and easy on the eyes. Everyone I show the screenshots to gets very interested, but they quickly lose interest when I explain itâs not Android and that some Android apps wonât run. I donât care ![]()
Ofc not. Other than the completely unreasonable choices like buttons, Samsung icons and more I assume, there are amazing stuff going on there.
Sure, I like it as well (not the primitive Android part). I just wanted to trigger some people that never touched an iPhone in their lives and somehow bash Liquid Glass while transparencies and blur everywhere is what sfos is built on (and that is fine somehow to them).
Liquid Ass.. beautiful marketing
Better yet if they only button came pre-pressed from the factory!
My wife and daughter both have iPhones. Daughterâs a teen, so the illegibility is a cool feature for her. But my wife had to turn on handicap accessibility features just to use the phone after the update to Liquid Ass. I guess 40 is the new 80 for the big-name phone OS makers.
BTW, neither of them could remember how to turn off an iPhone after we were done playing around with the âoldâ device to fully appreciate the new screen.
The cutie shell project was inspired by SFOS and it is available for official Droidian builds hereâŚ.
Download and install - Cutie Shell
My droidian is an unofficial build (Sony Xpâ 1), but Iâm seriously thinking of buying an Xpâ 5 which is an official droidian build just to get me a break from the awful Fisher-Price rendering, aka Phosh, that comes as standard with droidian. Hereâs some QT droidian eye candy but thereâs more if you do an image search in your browser. Screenshots - Cutie Shell
Yes, the UI looks a bit dated. But UI design is hard, and making it worse is easy.
Better that it gets updated thoughtfully than updated for the sake of it.
i like like it is now
