Sailfish OS is well explained at Grokipedia

Who cares for Elron Mustards compilation of stolen content with right wing conspiracies on top?

Why oh why would you post something like this and think it’s an achievement? It’s all stolen from Wikipedia anyways. Wikipedia, a website filled by people with passion and a vision of a future where information is shared equally and not controlled by a lunatic.

What is Grokipedia? Never heard until now.

At the beginning of this week Elon Musk announced the launch of his own online encyclopedia, as a competitor to wikipedia which he considers leaning left. Product of GrokAI, ironically it seems to be using wikipedia content, and tailored to please Musks preferences.

Yeah, all this waste of resources and duplication is very sad. Not to mention how information will be “checked” and “corrected”.
This person even calls Wikipedia Wokeipedia. Well well well…

As a non-leftie I DO care. Any issues with that?

As much as I would like to agree with you, I am afraid that we will have to care.
MAGA-addicts and other right wing people will start to cite grokipedias AI slop and therefore there is another source of “alternative facts” now which simulates trustworthiness.

Thank’s very much for info, so I’ll stay away from this BS.

Well i mean, i tried to do a full page on jolla and jolla product long time ago but the wikipedia mods deleted me everything stating that “they do not deserve full pages” and then asked me if i worked for the company, since i wanted so much to do it.
Not the nicest attitude at all…

Tools a certain someone in the 1930-40’s wished he had to his disposal.
I’ll steer clear and I hope many with me, the future is looking bleaker with each month lately.

Quick summary:

I don’t really like Wikipedia for the kind of weird, overbearing mod attitude there. But this Grokipedia rubbish is a lot worse.

That is exactly what happens when elitist mods turn a place into a cultish hellscape.

There are ways to appeal this. But I have to state that Wikipedia makes it sometimes hard to do. There are lot of little sheriffs who try to protect their small gardens and you need to find the right people to stop them.

For technical, scientific, antique cultural and common issues it’s fine, for the themes charged with ideology i don’t ask Wiki any more.

The project grokipedia is run by Musk’s AI company xAI and is closely linked to the chatbot Grok. Version 0.1 has been launched, and according to Musk’s announcement, version 1.0 will be “ten times better.”

I’m still looking for fully autonomous cars. I don’t trust this « guy » anymore.

I do not appreciate Musk at all, but Wikipedia is not to be considered neutral either.

It has been known to be biased to the left for some years. And this is not something subjective, it has been widely discussed online and even mentioned by one of its co-founders.

It’s strange that information is being classified along political lines. The content on Grokipedia is excellent and very helpful as an additional source of information – thank you for that!
The attitude in this forum unfortunately shows that constructive cooperation across political orientations is hardly possible.
The development path of SailfishOS seems to be heading into a dead end, and the rejection of Rostelecom has already left its marks.
