Sailfish OS 5.1 developer early access - OFF Topic

not on 10V so not for 10IV :frowning:

i do not use android on my devices, but native or advanced camera app works fine on 10II for all three lens
photos and videos are instantly saved to gallery right after capture sound, it is very fast i dont see any “processing”

no, I do not have access to 5.1 yet, just read the thread and run few df and du commands on my 10-iii to identify possible ways freeing up space. The 1.5GB free space requirement will be a serious issue for most users, I think it needs a separate topic for that with possible solutions including the option of temp removal of appsupport images?

Official guide Removing Android AppSupport | Sailfish OS Documentation . I was able to freeup necessary 1,5Gb with 10 III quite easily by deleting few apps with guide from Nephros How to free space on the root filesystem (before an update) . Didn’t even have to delete bigger ones like Whisperfish or Yottagram.

I have uninstalled/deleted so much, that I almost think my X10III is crippled. And yet, I need to free up another 100MB. I don’t dare to uninstall AAS (because of Swedish BankID), so right now my only hope hangs on /locale and /translations.

is the partition in all 10 III same side? I have 4,8Gb

Same as me then… and 20 chars.

Hmm, I haven’t yet fully figured what fulls the root partition so much, but I noticed that deleting apps from GUI leave a lot of unneeded dependencies on the root partition. CLI removal did much better job

That’s what I did to.

So, I finally succeeded to free up the remaining 100 MB (actually 1.6 GB free space now), by removing two apps that I really didn’t want to remove, Yottagram and Talefish.

I’m happy again, I’m ready for SFOS 5.1, on my daily drive. :face_exhaling:

FWIW, your personal settings, cache etc. should be unaffected by this; just re-install them after the upgrade and continue where you left off.

No, not really! I uninstalled from CLI, to remove all libs/dependencies. So I will have to use my backup to continue where I left off.

That’s a later question though, first I need SFOS 5.1 EA OTA.
