For me I see apps from harbour are the ones that make no problem when applying an OS update.
By this regard chum is probably the best because you can test your app build against various build targets. You can upload literally any rpm to harbour as long as it complies to the rules but does not necessarily mean it will work with new updates.
Do note that chum apps can still brick your phone if the dev adds some systemd services incorrectly and never bothers to test rebooting his phone, open source doesnât prevent such lazyness, harbour QA should at least catch that

This needs some extra attention and love, absolutely amazing effort! ![]()
Stumblefish: a BeaconDB stumbler for Sailfish OS
If we could get more people into the effort, mapping out their own home citys, all would benefit from it.

Once upon a time, there were âMLS managerâ, where one could get a helper for quicker GPS fix, for your area.
End The Big Mighty Emperors care, and it was no more âŚ
Enter the new era, when The New One (pun of âThe First Oneâ, yes âŚ) together with BeaconDB emerged, they joined forces and mapped the world, and they all lived happily ever after!

Joke aside, many reports of people amazed of the quick GPS fix of the JP2 in the forum (myself included), I think part of it is the support of BeaconDB as a helper?
I was surprised when looking at the map, many parts of my own town already were covered, but looking more closely it covers main parts, where passers by have already mapped it, but all can pitch in where blanks are.
If covering this, link to the âglobal mapâ where uncovered areas needs attention, and also the good feeling of âpainting tilesâ in your own surroundings in the map display of your own home area in the map display in the app.
For the (eventual) Post:

Make some screenshots in the app, âmaking your own tiles in your neighborhoodâ feels good ![]()
Posting this as an answer in the forum to the latest âCommunity newsletterâ, if picked up it may reach more sailors since I guess not all are active on the forum, but still get the âcommunity news emailâ?

This is so cool. I can actually spot some places in Belgium that are with high probably my contribution ![]()
I live in the country and the house is isolated on all sides; it has a 300m heaxagon all around it. If this wasnât my contribution then Iâm in big trouble.
Yeah, thanks for that. Now Iâm totally addicted to fullfill my local area. Yesterday I walked with my dog more than hour. I had hangover and it was raining.
Today I drived like 30 extra kilometer to work and off work.
It feels even better when youâve contributed both the beacon data for your area (recently) as well as the OpenStreetMap data itâs drawing the hexagons on (years ago). No doubt other people contributed lots of valuable data in other entangled domains to make it all work, too!
Some info / clarification for those of us in Batch 1 who have merged orders.
I have a merged order and got a number of shipping notifications yesterday (18/08/2026
) (Pre-Order #5465)
This followed a PM I had sent to @jolla chasing my order(s) which were overdue for dispatch.
The response I got said:
Your order had gone to manual handling queue due to a human error in merging the orders - a queue which we try to clear once-a-week for now as noted e.g. in the recent Community Newsletter.
So just FYI - if you have a merged order, human error may mean that this is not being shipped in pre-order sequence but Jolla is trying to deal with these once a week in a manual handling queue.
Not sure that this is obvious from the Community post.
I just wonder what determines when a manual handled order is processed. Is it just a first solve first processed basis? I.e. more complex cases can take longer? Would it help if more people chased their orders and gave Jolla as much information as possible to help them process their order faster?
There are some people on the Community Shipping Tracker for example that are way up there in pre-order number (i.e. one of the first to pre-order) but still havenât gotten a shipping notification. Some of them may simply not have updated the tracker but there are some that keep it up to date in the comments column, and the only conclusion can be that their order is being handled manually.
How muhc complex can it get other than having different email on the pre-order and final payment? Maybe if you forgot to use your prepayment discount code, but even then it should be just cross referencing the different entries in their DB.
This just clogs their emails/PMs even more and they would still have to do the same crossreferencing, so I donât know if it would make it any faster, only give one additional point to confirm the connection.
I would expect this to be the case with most of the people.
Received a shipping e-mail with a tracking code for order 66XX to the Netherlands today. I hope the phone will arrive soon.
Regards,
Alexander
In the Jolla Phone Community Shipping Tracker sheet you can see how long it took to other Dutch receivers.
