Release highlights

AppSupport update

AppSupport is updated to Android version 13 now also on Xperia 10 II and 10 III.

NOTE: If you have Google services installed, you need to uninstall those before updating, and reinstall them after the update.
(How to do this is left as an exercise to you hackers out there, as it is not officially supported setup :slightly_smiling_face:)

We are looking into bringing the AppSupport 13 also to the older 32bit devices,
i.e. Xperia XA2 and 10, but unfortunately it did not make it into this release.

AppSupport Bluetooth Support

We communicated early January that we are working to publish AppSupport Bluetooth Support. In contrast to what we were thinking earlier that we’d publish it through CBeta, we are planning to publish it via Jolla Store as a standalone package. Give it broader reach from the day one, more testing, and easy way to uninstall. We’ll announce AppSupport Bluetooth Support separately when available for installation.

Well quoted from the FOSDEM 2026 discussions:

How can I get early access to one of my devices?

Be aware that it is not for one of your devices, but for the account.. Just do not search for updates on your other devices

Very interested in bt support in AAS. Can’t wait to have a play with that!

I tend to wait - when do you expect the update published to general access?

I think if people need to get support for AppSupport Bluetooth Support, the universe might slowly start to implode. (ASBTS is also too close for comfort to “asbestos”? Yep, can’t be unseen now.)

Maybe just “AppSupport Bluetooth” is enough of a name?

Thank you! Then waiting for access….

Thanks for the warning.

I think we’re good on re(install) know-how, but not sure how many have done a temporary uninstall before. I haven’t, other than previous SFOS upgrades replacing AAS image, then you have to rebuild it - has worked every time for same Android version.

Is restoring SFOS stock AAS image for upgrade duration enough here as well?

EDIT How do I remove OpenGApps after installing it? · Issue #551 · opengapps/opengapps · GitHub seems to indicate there’s no official “uninstall” ability, other than clean wipe, so I’m hypothesizing that restoring a stock image from ooengapps script backup is the only option?

Usually is about one week. It happened earlier sometimes. Rarely longer if some bug pop out regressively.

Does this also mean MicroG?

On my C2 no update issues with MicroG installed. Went all smooth. Thanks for the Update, Jolla!

C2 was already on A13, so unrelated to the open question(s) on A11 devices.

No issue on my Xperia 10ii with MicroG installed

True, I didn’t link the Warning only to the devices and Android update mentioned directly above it.

Yes, MicroG is fine with the AppSupport 11 → 13 update, no need to do anything regarding that.
