[Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.67

Smooth upgrade on a 10 II as usual :+1:.

I had hoped that the audio fixes also fixed completely non-functional audio in Android apps like Linphone, but this is not the case.
Some Android apps, including Linphone, seem to use/get stuck on the input-parking/output-parking ports when playing sound/using the microphone. At least that’s the way I interpret the logs. E.g. the Linphone GUI acts normal during a call, but effectively doesn’t play any audio and only sends packets with silence to the remote peer.
Weird thing is that other apps like Signal never had this problem…

@takimata that sounds like a separate issue. I’ll write down this Linphone buggie.

Anyone else noticed that we have the waiting tone now, but that it still plays when the other side already picked up? On Xperia10II with the latest SFOS Greetings

Updated my Sony Xperia 10III to 5.0.0.67 (Tampella) without issues, but then noticed that I only seem to get the display-side camera and the camera switch button ⇄ does not seem to do anything.

I had a few years ago edited a camera configuration text file to select between the three main cameras instead of switching between one of them and the forward facing camera. However, I can’t for my life find/remember what this setting was and/or what I need to do to change it back. Suggestions?

You can use my hack doing that so you don’t need to remember:

The instructions for the camera switcher config are available at the SailfishOS documentation site. FWIW, I had also done this change a couple of years back and it was reset with the most recent update. I don’t recall having that happen with any previous update in the past 2 years I’ve been using my 10III.

I’ve been using SFOS 5.0.0.67 for about a week now, and I can confidently say, that the battery lasts about as long as when I was still on SFOS 4.6. It’s hard to say with 100% certainty, but depending on a day, the battery drains as fast (or slow in this context) or just slightly faster than on SFOS 4.6, but nowhere near the level of SFOS 5.0.0.62, where the battery seemed to go down with speed that felt 50% faster than on SFOS 4.6.

On battery life that is my experience also.

Hi,
I too have started experiencing this.
Previously I had no ringing tone on VoLTE calls, since the upgrade I receive the waiting tone whist ringing, but it keeps playing even once the call connects. This drives me nuts. It is almost impossible to use as a phone!
I have a 10V with v4b blobs.
I hope a fix is immenent.
Thank you.

Had a new experiense. After the alarm was set and alarmed the sound in calls was gone again.

The update itself went flawless. But after updating my XA2 Plus to 5.0.0.67 I suddenly couldn’t send text messages anymore on 4G. The phone would instantly say “problem with sending” like it didn’t even try to communicate with the network first. However receiving text messages did work, and sending MMS surprisingly also worked. I’m in Denmark using the Unotel provider (TDC/YouSee network).

I tried rebooting, I tried swithcing to 2G, I tried disabling wifi, I tried flight mode and re-enable mobile data. Nothing helped.

I tried following the a in a bug report about deleting stuff from /var/lib/ofono//sms_assembly/ … but I had about a gazillion files there, so I didn’t dare delete them.

Then out of desperation I restarted the phone yet again, and suddenly sending texts works again. At least for now. Possibly the reason it worked after the second reboot could be that that time I switched the phone fully off before restarting and didn’t just “reboot”.

Thanks, installing this cleared the situation!

And I’m pretty sure they ignored it for a long while now, and intervention was required.

Somebody recently reported that this works.

Hmm, sounds disturbing. Any way to fix it, maybe by removing the sound file responsible?

I’m having issues when installing storeman: sony xperia 10 III; problems related to certificates. Storeman doesn’t fin the network. I tried a lot of solution but having problems also when trying a “pkcon refresh”. Chum is working indeed. I hope it isn’t a problem of this release but only something with storeman

Yes it is! Try again in a day or two.
[EDIT] actually, try now. It has been fixed.

Thank you. I’ll try to be patient :joy:

Yess. It works perfectly. Thank you again

Works again. Thanks!

Quite the opposite for me - most of the days the phone dies overnight when it used to last 1.5 days previously.
