[Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.29 for Jolla C2

Had the same problem. Delete Android app support and then try it.

Is it possible, however ? I really don’t understand where to look for it besides at GitHub - sailfishos-chum/sailfishos-chum-gui-installer: Installs the SailfishOS:Chum GUI application. But the installer is nowhere to be seen in the UI.

I don’t even want to know how you found that out.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me either.

In the Jolla shop you just uninstall it. Reinstall is of course also possible

@matebovate @willmason5 In this case i would update from the commandline.

devel-su
ssu re 5.0.0.29
ssu ur
version --dup

Or use sfos-upgrade from the Openrepos

Just skip the installer and install directly from chum https://repo.sailfishos.org/obs/sailfishos:/chum/4.6_aarch64/aarch64/sailfishos-chum-gui-0.6.9-1.10.1.jolla.aarch64.rpm

Tried it via the console. Then it was said that 560MB of space was missing

After a failed update you can inspect /var/log/zypp/history and it will tell you (sometimes) what failed.

I predict it will be something along the lines of:

# 2024-11-14 11:05:34 droid-system-s19mps-1.0.4-1.7.1.jolla.aarch64.rpm install failed
# rpm output:
# installing package droid-system-s19mps-1.0.4-1.7.1.jolla.aarch64 needs 717MB more space on the / filesystem

Thanks, I updated via sfos-upgrade. In the terminal it told me that the droid-system package need 137MB more space. Although I already uninstalled the android support package. So I removed a couple of apps and now it works.

That raised the question in me why the system partition is just 5.7GB? That seems quite small.

Yes. Only by reflashing. With the bigger root partition, getting the subsequent OS updates OTA will be easier.
(a bit of a chicken-egg problem)

One folder to clean up and gain more space is /var/tmp. I had rubbish worth 500 MB in there.

Disabling 4G makes it not a mobile phone

When I want to reflash, where can one find an flashing instruction and the proper image to download?

Please updatebto 5.0.0.29 if possible, than your phone should run faster and smoother …

I see it as a mobile phone. It’s in the beta state as announced.
For me it’s a daily driver from day one. That’s 3 weeks.

EDIT: and in my country 3G was switched off months ago.

KPN plans to abolish 3G in December.

That works ! The repository refresh doesn’t though :-/

But SMSes don’t work properly. Do they for you ? And perhaps you don’t need any of the Android apps that don’t work, i.e. some banking applications (?).
