[Release notes] Struven ketju 4.5.0.24

Hmm strange… I am quite sure i tried this recently and it worked. How do you know they get the same ip?

I look into Settings/Developer options and there were on both phones the same 192.168.0.4 at the same time. Meanwhile I set’ static IP addresses in the two client phones, so problem is provisory solved, but something is wrong. On DHCP, why does tethering send the same address to two clients?
I think of flashing the ‘Gateway’ phone back to 4.4.0.72 and have a look if it’s better then. But on the other hand it’s an opportunity to find and fix a bug in SFOS.
What shall I check and report? Logfiles? Settings?

A separate bug report would be good. If this is reproducible nothing else is needed. I’ll try tomorrow…

10 iii, yes of course and everything else normally on the list

just to make sure this isnt what you mean, does running this help:

devel-su
rfkill unblock all
systemctl restart bluetooth
sleep 3
systemctl restart bluebinder

i only ever have to do this exactly once after booting, and only about 1/3 of my reboots. running that script on every boot, after lipstick has been up for 5 min, solves it 100%. (my symptom is that bluetooth wont turn on)

Interesting… I dont have this issue… Bluetooth sometimes dies but restarting is always sufficient

This is a really nice update - things are working well …

Fresh install left my 10 iii stuck in fastboot mode. I had to re-engage fastboot mode, and run “fastboot continue”. This is a significant bug which will be a nightmare for any new users we get.

Installation still has a major problem, probably related to this. It sometimes goes into a failing boot mode. The phone won’t get past the first lock screen and won’t power off, only reset. It also takes a long time to shut down.

I’ve installed SailfishOS about 6 months ago on my Sony Xperia 10iii. The Jolla Store as well as the Sailfish OS Updates section of the Settings do not mention any update, even if force it to check for updates.
My current version is 4.5.0.19, what is the proper way to perform the update? (If possible i prefer a CLI method  ).

Free version or paid license?

And even paid license need a login of your Jolla account.

There is a comprehensive CLI update client … you’ll find it the usual places Chum, the free store etc

as @DrDweeb wrote above.

Thanks for your responses.

Since i don’t care about android support i’ve chosen the free version.

I have a working jolla acount (i can install apps from the Jolla store)

Is there a list of these “usual places”? I’ve been using SFOS for a long time (since the first jolla phone) but i’ve never used anything outside the jolla store  .

@Seven.of.nine thanks for the link!

The free version also has a feature to not update automatically.

Please also see this issue:

Storeman is for OpenRepos, use the link below to download and install storeman-installer,
https://openrepos.net/content/olf/storeman-installer

then let it run and it will install the right version of Storeman for your device. Please be patient on installing, it needs it’s time until the new Storeman starter icon occurs on the app grid.

For Chum use this link:
https://chumrpm.netlify.app/

there choose your SFOS version and device architecture, proceed and it will install the Chum app.

I was unaware of that, thanks for letting me know.

@Seven.of.nine Thanks for the links!

I would like to add, that for an ordinary user the easiest way to install Chum is SailfishOS:Chum GUI Installer that can be found in Storeman. So, to recap: install Storeman first and then proceed by installing Chum and then you are good to go!

Cheers, now there’s your problem. (Referring to https://shop.jolla.com/ under “What you get”.)

I know reflashing to latest version takes time and effort, but there is always an option to pay for the license.
