@jauri.gagarin.II et al., here’s an update on Jolla C2 Community Phone deliveries and status.
Thanks a lot for the update, very appreciated!
One question about the Jolla C2 Community Phone:
Although user talk about it in some places here, I can’t find this information stated:
Will there be an usable fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone?
Thanks
Also about notification LED: Will there be one, or an equivalent?
No, there is no fingerprint sensor
Very interesting. It is present neither on the Reeder S19 Max Pro S nor on the Jolla C2 demonstrated on YouTube, but the screen protector shown in Jolla C2 Community Phone deliveries - #213 by rainemak appears to have a hole for it. Could it be a fingerprint sensor?
I haven’t noticed that when live… My guess woukd be a hint that you can pull up from either side since the device is wider.
The hole in the screen protector is unexplainable to me. Not only the Redeer does not come with a fingerprint sensor, but also a such hole is not needed for optical ones. And the sonic type is more expensive I would assume…
Does the same apply to capacitive sensors? Maybe the less expensive ones are not as sensitive and require a hole… Looking at the image more closely, it seems that the screen is still lit up in that area, so it is probably just a hint. But the hole suggests that it might have some interesting purpose.
Or maybe it will have two different functions
That was kindof genius from Sharp. They also created the first notched phone. I like fingerprint in that position, reminds me of one of the reasons I liked the P20 Pro…
Not everyone likes notifications by LED. Some even hate it. These attention seeking lights can be very disturbing. I hope the JollaC2 doesn’t have them.
The XA2 plus has one such a stripe on the bottom of the phone. If I swipe the screen with apps up, this lighted stripe comes on top. It marks the screen.
LED is great, but only when it’s highly configurable
If you have it, you can disable it in settings.
If you don’t have it, you can’t enable it in settings.
Hate is perhaps an energy waste in that case.
I wish there will be one, that you will be able to deactivate to your convenience.
Can you please tell me how to disable these notification lights? I only see in settings how to regulate sounds, not lights.
What? Awful doubt… I was so sure that it was possible that I didn’t even think things could be different.
But you are right. No direct way.
But… On my N900 in 2010, it was possible to configure that, IIRC. Perhaps like here, not directly in settings?
Sorry for the presumption, anyway.
So, let’s double hope: C2 with LED + Setting to disable.
What about android version of the device? Can we flash SFOS on it or its still unknown.I can buy Reeder S19 Max Pro S few months old with tiny crack on the back for 50€ or go to Turkey and buy it brand new.
