A friend gifted me an old Xperia X with SFOS 2. It seems to be single SIM, I think so because only one IMEI number is shown in settings.
Can I reflash this device with the currently available flashing file from Jolla Shop downloads?
“Sony Xperia X, dual SIM** (F5122) *Sailfish OS 4.6.0.15, last supported version”
If not, is there a chance to get the last flashing file for the single SIM version anywhere?
I am not quite certain whether @hennsch is offering a workaround for this issue or not in explanation. If you have purchased a license for F5121 in the past then it would appear to be still available.
Hi!
I have good news and bad news.
You can install the operating system, but only step by step. All stop releases must be installed individually, according to the increasing version number, in Developer Mode from the command line.
That was the bad news.
I managed to do it a bit more then half a day.
That was the good news.
For this, Jolla provides all the information, at the cost of some search.
On the device is currently installed SFOS 2.1.4.14 .
After entering my Jolla account cred’s into a new Jolla account on the device, it was accepted and offered me to download Jolla software. → works
In Settings - Updates - Search for updates it tells me that device is up to date.
What should I try now? Any ideas? Thanks for any help!
edit:
ssh login + root login from computer works.
copied Storeman Installer onto the device, but it reports “problems on installing” when trying to install.
Jolla shop works!
I have this archive file in one laptop. I could send it to you, but likely not before june.
I flashed my Xperia X single sim with it, latest version supported. You may also need to install an RPM for the hotspot to work (known workaround), since hotspot fails since 4.6 or so on Xp X.
I still have these versions on my hard drive and could upload them somewhere.
Sailfish_OS-Jolla-4.0.1.48-f5121-0.2.2.42.zip
Sailfish_OS-Jolla-4.6.0.15-f5121-1.0.0.12.zip
a stop release is a release that must not be skipped when upgrading. so basically you upgrade from stop release to stop release and at the end to the newest release
