What specific promises from Jolla to us regarding the Xperia 10 IV and V do you have knowledge of?

As I remember it, Jolla never made a promise about 10 IV and 10 V support.

Same time you, the Sailfish Community, have been eagerly waiting for news regarding Sony Xperia 10 IV and Xperia 10 V support. Earlier this week some of you realized from the docs repository that something is happening. The news is that yes, we will support Sony Xperia 10 IV and Xperia 10 V.

We also confirmed support for XQ-CC72 and XQ-DC72 variants of Sony Xperia 10 IV and Sony Xperia 10 V. These two devices need variant configurations meaning that we will create dedicated flashable images for XQ-CC72 and XQ-DC72 variants. The 72 variants are likely released separately right after XQ-CC54 and XQ-DC54 variants.

Never happened of course.

From Jolla’s list of Supported Devices on their website listing the Sony Xperia 10 iv and 10 v as officially supported:

Seems a pretty clear promise to me - not Jolla might support these devices or maybe could support these devices, but Jolla will support these devices and confirmed support for the different variants.

But then, the ‘de-emphasising’ of support for these models.

From the community meeting minutes of 6th November 2025 (Oops, there’s that non-existent promise again!):

Jolla: We fully acknowledge, we have promised to deliver Sailfish to Xperia 10 IV/V and we remain committed to do our part with it as far it takes and what can be feasibly done by us (rainemak, 16:32:46).

We have also been thinking about completely different approaches by enabling this thru an “officially supported community port” and we enable AppSupport to it – would that work for the community?

And of course finally from the Community Meeting on the 4th June 2026:

“Currently we are not actively working on Xperias. Our focus is on Jolla Phone and all hands tied with that.”

Now we can all argue what ‘supported’ means in practice, but whatever the nuances I think we’d all agree that at least the basics need to work in practice for the device to be usable. Both the !0 iv and the 10 v are a long way from being in this state at the moment as we all know.
