please help to support docker for 6t.
You should be able to install nerdctl&containerd with pkcon, I think.
(I have not tried it yet on my SailfishOS Phone though.)
could also just be SailfishOS Core exclusive

I don’t use Whatts App or simular, just Matrix and sms. Not many use matrix, so I need sms. Here it is not working propper. I can send but not receive sms, no matter if 4 G or 2G is selectet. Is there some workarround?. Waydroid I need maybe 2 - 3 times a day for firefox and schildichat. Starting Waydroid fails often and to make it start I have to reboot. Helper App doesn’t work for that either. Any tipps? Is there a way to get GPS working inside Waydroid?
Is there a zoom level for Sailfish browser avaliable?
Otherwise the hole sailfish system is brilliant and I like the size of OP6 very much.
Thanks for that port.
That is something others experienced but not everyone, seems volte related but I don’t really know
Not sure if others experienced it (probably not) but why not just leave it running then or, here’s better idea, don’t use it
not sure what you mean but I assume no
whole*
I don’t, that’s why I don’t use it ![]()
No I could not.
Looking at my track record, no it doesn’t.
Waydroid did work when I first installt it, but after some reboots it doesn’t start anymore. Container is running but it breaks down before launching. I updated waydroid in terminal, same result. I tried to start the ui through terminal instead of waydroid runner - no success. It tries to launch for about 3 to 5 seconds and crashes. Any idea (instead of not using it
) ?
You have to reapply the fix after updating
Which fix are you talking about?
the fix to get waydroid working?
Ah ok, the last 3 steps…
mount /home/waydroid/images/system.img /mnt/waydroid/
ln -s /vendor_extra/etc/media_profiles_vendor.xml /mnt/waydroid/system/etc/
umount /mnt/waydroid/
Thanks again.
Is it possible to make a script for this? Or even better a little helper app - like “waydroid-helper” app? Would be nice.
even better would be to figure out why its needed
I turned my op6 off while my alarm clock was enabled. Then 1 minute before alarm time my phone turned it self on and the alarm did ring just in time.
Well, pretty nice feature. But how does this work? Does this need extra power?
Which other phones do have the same feature?
And if I don’t setup any alarm, is my phone then totally off, when I power it off? I would like to be sure that it is off then I power it off.
There is an RTC always running, even when the phone is powered off, that turns on the phone before the alarm is about to go off. The power consumption of this is minimal.
For some reason this doesn’t seem to be a thing anymore at the age of smart phones. Don’t people t need this kind of feature anymore, because people are surprised RTC being there, if they never used it before, or being surprised RTC not being there, if they wanted to use it? Back in the dumb-phone days every phone had this feature, or at least I don’t remember hearing about any model that didn’t have this. It would be pretty good and easy way to save battery during night time, if people would turn their phones off and the phone would still wake them up at the morning. Especially when stand by times of modern phones are joke, when compared to the dumb-phone -era stand by times.
As far as I know, the RTC runs as long there is power in the battery and there isn’t anything you can do about it without ripping the battery off of the phone.
It’s funny that you noticed cause it was standard feature in sfos since 2013
most notably jolla phone. also if you go here Adaptations/libhybris - Mer Wiki the rtc alarms column is the one responsible
yes
It is equally as off as any other device with a real-time clock. Such as a desktop PC that manages to keep time even when unplugged (by a common non-chargeable coincell battery that lasts several years, to give you an idea of the power needed) - on laptops and phones, the RTC uses the main battery. The feature simply enables the clock to trigger a bootup. Your device is truly off, until it boots due to the trigger.
Thanks a lot for explanation. And yes, Dumbphone area was kind of nice. Still have a Nokia 8110 4G with GerdaOS. Longlasting Battery and possibility for hotspot.
I’m quite happy with that. If I turn my phone off, I want it to be off, not in deep hibernatinon, ready to turn on for an alarm. If I want to be woken by an alarm then I will not turn the phone off, I will let it go into standyby mode, ready to turn on for the alarm. I would definitely not buy a phone that cannot be fully turned off.
If it can turn on without any action on my part this it is not fully off. For me, ‘off’ means powered down, battery out if removable. If that makes me a ‘dumbass’, I’ll just have to live with that ![]()
