Yes there is, yes I chosed it, yes it works. Thanks again.
With the VOLTE news, I was eager to see if OP6T works in the USA on SFOS – way too few devices to choose from here. The hardware itself should work, it’s been sold here by domestic carriers and OP direct. So I flashed it to SFOS and . . . several hours later . . . booted up SFOS and it looks nice and smooth, encryption works, etc. But then there’s some weirdness . . .
I Put in a USMobile SIM (AT&T USA network reseller) in slot 1 and it tries to find a network but never does. I decided to try SIM2 slot because I’ve read SFOS sometimes is weird about multi-sim devices. After rebooting it gets connected and volte registers with SIM in slot 2. Then battery ran out overnight (oops) and when I got it charged up again and rebooted it in the morning it would no longer get registered.
I left it for a few hours and no change, so I figured there was nothing to lose by swapping the SIM back to slot 1. After a reboot it gets registered on the network on this slot.
That would be really strange if the SIM needed to be switched between slots every boot, so I’ll keep an eye on this and post if anything develops. I should note that this particular device began life as a T-Mo locked phone with special OS version. Using a patched MSM tool from XDA developers got it flashed to the dual-sim international OS before I flashed Lineage 16 and then the SFOS port. I also need to mess around and see if MMS will work – if it does this phone could be a daily driver here.
My carrier pretty much blocked all of my devices so volte doesn’t even work on android, it only works on random chinese car radio lol
Ehh, volte is stupid, and too much carrier dependent, and so convoluted that i can’t even do anything to help you with that issue, it’s just matter of adding packages and hoping for the best
Each SIM slot has a separate IMEI, so just a theory: it might also be some kind of a block (or whatever other “unsuccess”) timeout occuring for each of them with swapping slots.
OK, still messing around with USMobile . . .
After another boot I’m still getting registered on volte without moving the SIM around from slot 1 back to slot 2. So maybe the weirdness was just a one-time weird thing. Voice calls in and out are working. SMS seems to work.
Even got someone else’s two-factor auth number just now! How’d they know I needed a test text?
Testing mobile data: check. ![]()
OTOH, can’t seem to send or receive MMSs. I’ll play around with APN names a little, sometimes that helps . . . maybe switching WLAN on/off . . . MMS is always weird until it isn’t.
Hi! I’m currently trying to use my op6 as my “daily driver”. I’d like to report that after the latest update 4g volte calling now works. And the issues with receiving sms seems to be gone also. My provider (Halebop, sweden) accepts my op6. I had to reboot the phone after inserting the sim card, but after that it seem to work just fine.
However. I have a wierd issue. When making a phone call I don’t hear the calling tones. I get a visual indicaton that the call is in progress, but no audio. Once the person I’m calling picks up I hear them just fine, so this isn’t a big deal. I had this once or twice on my C2 too.
Big thanks for all the effort in adding volte capability!
That’s normal and expected, simply nobody implemented that. I could do it but i lost volte access and it’s such a non-issue that people just live with it xd
Per @carmenfdezb’s request I’ve added wireguard, so if that’s something you need, zypper ref; zypper dup
Thank you, @Mister_Magister! And I can confirm that it works perfectly ![]()
