You should be able to install nerdctl&containerd with pkcon, I think.
(I have not tried it yet on my SailfishOS Phone though.)

could also just be SailfishOS Core exclusive

The software architecture of the Jolla Mind2 with Venho.Ai drives also improvements to the Sailfish Core for example Go language compiler is in the works and nerdctl already integrated.
