1000% this. Not having NFC-based payments is frustrating. I understand there is a massive amount of work that would be involved in the software-side, but I would be content with at least a commitment for a native payment solution (no, not Google Pay via AppSupport) and the NFC otherwise not being usable for payment OOTB (I could still maybe use it with HA and programmed NFC tags).
When I was at the community meetup I had the opportunity to try an Xperia device from the nice fella sitting next to me (sorry, terrible with names!) and the form factor and build quality was fantastic. I LOVED the screen size. It didn’t feel like a monster to hold. A device of this form factor from Jolla, with good cameras (and working video for Pete’s sake), a 1440p min. screen, and a replaceable battery would be a no brainier for me.
In terms of the BT AppSupport, I assume that being a priority / polled option might mean 2x BT chipsets? Otherwise I am a bit puzzled why that would be coupled with a new device rather than software progression.
Thank you Jolla team for involving your community in the priorities of the device. Big W, shows how Jolla continues to be unlike others.
