"Native" whatsapp client

Is this a potential solution to have a native whatsapp app?

Isn’t this just the web client, thus you would still need the smartphoneclient to connect to it?
Edit: yes: https://gitlab.com/bit3/whatsappqt/-/blob/master/mainwindow.cpp#L173

Yes indeed. But most of us run two phones anyway.

“most of us”? Maybe you should speak for yourself. I have had my sailfish phone as my primary and only phone since ver 1. Just saying …

True that, but my second phone also runs Sailfish

In SFOS browser? Forget about it. :grinning:

WhatsApp deactivates your account when using clone apps and clears all chat history?

You remember? - There Can Be Only One!!!

Not sure if this is the right place for this question. Anyway. I’ve been getting temporarily banned by whatsapp recently. After sending them an inquiry they claim its because i’m not on an official version of whatsapp. My question to you all is, is’nt the download from apkpure an official version? If not is there a way to install the official version on sailfish?

You can download official android version directly from Whatsapp website.

Ok thank you. Will do that.

Sailfish OS (APP Bridge)…to whatsapp would be nice :+1:

Bridging whatsapp via matrix might be an option

Setting up very complicated for me
