Lock screen PIN entry: highlighting of pressed digits is a shoulder-surfing risk

Lockscreen keypad scrambler?

Hello there! I wonder if it would be feasible to implement a keypad scrambler on/off button/key for the lock screen? E.g. by initially placing it in the bottom row, next to the zero and make every key (including the scrambler on/off button) shift position randomly every time a key is pressed. This will also allow the scrambler key to act as a “make no input”-key in order to mask the actual number of digits/characters in key. Will it sail?

Scrambled PIN layout like in GrapheneOS

I just learned GrapheneOS can scramble the PIN entry numbers. I love this feature, because it’s very simple to implement and counters the biggest problems with PIN entry: 1. Fat stains on the display can tell which digits were used. 2. If you’re recorded during PIN entry, the PIN may be reconstructed from that. Can we have that too please? It should be a low hanging fruit! [image]

Option to scramble PIN layout when unlocking device

This feature has already been requested and there’s also an unofficial patch. May you please implement an option to scramble the PIN layout?
