I have held a Xperia 10 V and even tried to daily drive it for over a year until I give it up early this year (I still kept it but moved to use another phone). Of course I am excited about the Jolla Phone, but what happened to Xperia 10 V really drop my confidence on any thing promised from Jolla.
Especially on the lack of communication, somehow we are always only left with rumours of why something is happening and not happening from a forum from other users who are just as well uninformed.
For official support: They tried to fix SFOS with the actual sony-aosp-blobs. They didn’t get it. The only chance is, that Sony will bring better blobs. Thats it. Some fear it wont happen, but it still can happen, that sony does it. Last round of new blobs had also blobs for 1iii/5iii, so its possible, that working blobs are coming, but dont hang your hopes too high.
For community port with official AAS-Support: Meanwhile a LineageOS-Port has showed up for 10iv/v, what is the base to get for a community port. The actual LineageOS-Version is 23.2. A look to the code of the hybris-stuff shows, an update for 23.2 seems to be in work actually, so building a community-port should be feasible, when it arrives.
So, I bet J2 comes earlier than support of 10v. But to be honest nothing what I wrote is a secret and findable at various posts in the forum or in the meeting-protocols of the last 3-4 community meetings.
Thank you for your detailed reply! That answers a lot of questions.
And to be honest I definitely have came across posts that differs from your claim.
And since when a commercial product’s communication baseline is “go search in a forum and hope you can figure out which post of which user of which time is the correct one”
i agree about the beahvior of jolla team in this matter
that is why,
somewhat disgusted after 12years and a few official SfOS licenses
i have migrated to something less erratic in behavior
and with clear statement from the team of what works and what does not
