It was mentioned in the Jolla Phone pre-order page. There was section titled Key benefits of pre-ordering and under it was “Special Edition Back Cover - Pre-order batch only Made as a thank-you to early supporters”.
sorry, my bad.
to be honest, I pre-ordered towards the end of last year and only paid the phone using the pre-order discount at the end of April this year.
sadly I haven’t followed on the announcments they made ever since, only returning here after three months to check if the phones already shipped out, which they did, thankfully ![]()
so, yeah, I appreciate them sending the TOH along with the order.
Well it is/was a nice surprise to those who didn’t read the page back then when they receive the phone, since I don’t think you can get to that version of the page anymore (maybe through Internet Archive), but here on the forums there has been quite a lot of talks about the cover and even pictures and videos of it from the Jolla Day1 and on.
I think a few weeks ago I’ve read about the IB TOH, yet I just thought it was another “limited” colored version of the back cover, never knowing it was an illuminated TOH ;D
skimming over the forum in the recent days (more frequently since Friday) I’ve also already seen solutions to use the IB TOH to signal for incoming calls, messages etc.
Normal. Posten gets a message first that a package is on the way to you, they then send message to you, then the package arrives in Norway and is sorted, and you get another
At least that is how it has been with packages from foreign countries for me many times in Norway. I am batch 3 too. Also ordered extra cover 3 weeks ago, but still not got any refund so starting to worry about that but I guess the lads have too much on their hands these days
So I will be patient. I trust they do all they can, propably was more success in order numbers than they thought, for next Jolla I guess they will have various changes to systems and routines after all that has happened.
When they come to process your order, they’ll combine everything you’ve ordered and refund any extra shipping you’ve paid for at that point.
Automatic. If it fails for any reason you get payment link email.
Guys, there’s an update on my situation. To refresh your memory, my Jolla phone arrived with a screen defect—a yellow mark in the top-right corner—and dust in the camera, so I proceeded to return it using the return label included in the package. The phone arrived in Tampere on September 8th. Since a week had passed and I hadn’t heard anything yet, I sent a private message to Jolla explaining the situation, and they replied yesterday, Sunday! They told me they would escalate the issue to the warranty department so that, once inspected, they could send me a replacement unit. Well, today—Monday—I received a shipping notification; my new Jolla unit is already on its way to Spain! Hehe. So, just so you know the timeframes in case something similar happens to you:
I sent the phone on August 27th. It arrived at Jolla’s facilities on September 8th. After 13 days of processing, on September 20th, they confirmed they were sending a replacement device under warranty. Now, I imagine the return journey will take 10–12 days, so I estimate it will arrive in Spain around October 3rd or 4th. I’ll keep you posted once it arrives. I hope sharing my experience helps.
Order #31627 Paid end of July, then nothing. It’s batch 3 apparently, so ship in September, it is September but there’s no tracking information of any kind that I can find. Then I read some of these forums and people who ordered last year are still waiting, which doesn’t seem right, surely?
Batch 2 started and finished last year, but the devices started shipping late July.
No one paid the full amount last year because it was impossible. It was almost April when they started collecting the first round of purchases.
OK, but on another thread on this very form I read :
I paid in July, I’m batch #3. The store simply shows confirmed, and nothing in the email from Jolla since. I’m not sure if I should email again, try social, just sit and wait….. is there even a schedule anymore?
Today an email went out…probably you have got one.
The preorder date and numbers are important not when you paid fully.
Don’t read ancient topic with obsolete info. Check the email also. I just got an email confirming that batch 3 is on it’s way. Which you can also see in a Community Tracker topic.
I’ve been following the topic while anxiously waiting for my turn to get my second official Jolla phone in my hands, and tonight it finally arrived.
Since people are keen to know all about the timelines, here’s mine
- 2025-12-08 - preordered - #68XX
- 2026-04-02 - completed order - #19XXX
- 2026-09-17 - order shipped
- 2026-09-24 - order arrived (in full, phone + additional TOH + gorilla glass and of course the great extra TOH Jolla gives us all)
A few things about the order;
I too had used a different email address between the preorder and the final order, I chose not to contact Jolla about it when I saw preorders #68XX were being processed and while I got a bit worried when they moved on to #69XX without getting the anticipated “we shipped your phone” email, they sorted it all out just fine.
As for the journey the order made to the Netherlands:
- 2026-09-17 - shipment announced
- 2026-09-18 - arrived at Posti Tampere, same day arrived at Posti Vantaa
- 2026-09-21 - left Posti Vantaa
- 2026-09-22 - arrived at LT-SmartPosti Lithuania and left for Germany
- 2026-09-23 - arrived in Germany (DHL, at this point the Posti tracking code was known at DHL so I used their tracking)
- 2026-09-24 - arrived in the Netherlands and later in my hands.
The phone looks great and solid, all nice and in working order, so now onto installing and configuring the beast and showing it off.
Thank you, Jolla, for making this happen!
Great! Feel free to create a video, it would be deeply appreciated… and Welcome!
yes my phone arrived! my order #19xxx arrived last night to the netherlands
You can track the status here CryptPad . This is not official and is supported by the community but you estimate when your delivery will be done.
And how about following the instruction to link to the thread and not the form?
I like the text on the insert very much. Nice thing to start the onboarding process by reminding the user what this great project is all about.
