Just bought a voucher. Folks, this relationship is kinda toxic ![]()
1000 devices ordered in under 16h, looking good.
It was instant hit in my eyes and the shine has not worn off with the second nor third look. ![]()
Pre-order made. Personally biggest issue is to get local bank apps working. Then this phone could be fully used daily basis. Danske bank, Nordea, S-Pankki etc.
Edit: here is thread about these: Banking apps on Sailfish OS
- Do we know if the phone will support usb-C → jack3.5?
- Do we know the quality of DAC? With Jolla phone-1 it was fine and in compare to other phones in these times Jolla had better sound quality ( Flac + good headphones or audio system)
@rainemak can you please clarify usb-c → jack and the DAC?
Bluetooth headphones sux because it just need to manage charge of batteries and mostly get discharged when i want to listen music… and not in last place after some time batteries in hp are at low capacity in compare to new ones… so it need service to replace batteries or trashing headphones and buying new one what is not good option in compare to classic wire where i just plug my Pro headphones and listen… well sure i know that people who can use 10€ headphones or loudspeaker from phone to listen music does not care about this, but i care ![]()
also phone draining more own battery while using BT in compare to wired headphones / car audio.
@fingus even i have this century car i have no BT audio for music but just jack input (hybrid from 2011) as it was not a cheap car and it is still fine i guess that i will keep the car for next 2-5 years and definitely will not change car because of phone
same applies to my home receiver / amplifier from 2010 - works like charm no reason to trash it for new piece of today’s craps what works 2 years and then die.
@koza you have very good points to which I agree. Regarding modern cars, it seems to be impossible to use anything else than Android-auto or apple-car play to transmit the audio signal to the entertainment system. There is no analog audio input anymore. A way to ‘spoof’ Android-auto would be something that I would look forward. I have a car from 2024 and connecting e.g. Jolla C2 only works for calls. Only my wife can stream music with her Google-Android. This is not optimal.
oh yes, the google in car is primary reason why i am not in rush to change car. lets hope in future where you can choose car system eg https://seafarix.com/
I have only ever seen active adapters in the wild. They don’t take any special hardware - just a functioning USB port. They also perform better.
- Analog Audio Accessory Mode (AAAM) allowed analog TRRS/line signals on certain pins, but it’s optional and deprecated in many devices.
- Most phones/laptops that expose a 3.5 mm via USB‑C use an internal or external DAC (digital USB Audio) and a dongle that converts digital → analog.
What about spare parts? Will parts like display, usb-c jack, speaker be available? @Jolla
I like the specs but it’s a bad month with the expensive Christmas and new year and the poor month following it.
I hope i can pre-order this one, if you had Klarna, Qliro or something like that it would be a lot easier.
A configurable Physical Privacy Switch, doesn’t that kill the point of a physical button if it’s software programmable?
Good question, i did change the screen on my JP-1301 so hopefully i can on the new jolla phone (maybe a JP-2601 or 02).
It’s really cool that the Next Gen Phone campaign is starting now. I didn’t expect it to happen so soon. I just bought a Sony Xperia 10 V. Now I’m not sure whether I should flash it with SFOS, considering that the new Next Gen Phone will be out in mid-26. I ordered it anyway. Obviously. ![]()
What is weight of the phone?
Oooh that is quite something! Great work Jolla, the phone webpage is also nicely designed, that is a positive marketing touch!
As mentionned on my comment last time ( Next gen Jolla Phone - #937 by yusssufff ), I was hoping for:
1–Mid range CPU (fluidity in the class of Xp10V): Ticked, we have a high performant Mediatek (likely a dimensity).
2–Price around 400eur (okay to have downsides in other things for that aim eg storage, sensors etc): Ticked, 499eur price for backers is quite good compromise.
3–Mid range ‘build’ specs (gorilla G, water resistance etc) for ‘some’ durability: Ticked, Gorilla glass and replacable battery.
So i feel lucky
.
Just one hope: that in Sailfish OS 5.1 will come backed in the possibility to black out both sides of the notch, so that too bar things get aligned, such as this: [UI ideas] UI of time displayed bellow C2's notch: More elegant alternatives? - #6 by yusssufff
Nevertheless I bought a new Xperia 10 V after last automn communication that it was worked on by Jolla. So I am hoping very strongly for full Xperia 10 V official support and long happy years on that Xperia, before needing a new phone.
You can use PayPal, which offers delayed or rate payment.
I know some do not like paypal, but at least offers some flexibility for cases like yours.
When is the remaining payment due? Do we pay in advance in January, or will an invoice be sent shortly before the phone is shipped?
Should be two sim card + SD slot the way it is written…
Just ordered! I like this phone, although I would wish the corners were rounded. I hope volte works in this phone too.
The more I look at the renders the more I like the looks of it.
But somehow the camera bump has the opposite effect, I dislike it the more I look at it. Not because of the looks to be honest, but because I can already picture the awful wobble in flat surfaces and the annoying sounds the vibrations will have because of it.
