It’s annoying (I have this problem with Sony) but I expect this to be temporary. Once VoLTE becomes compulsory, they won’t be able to filter, they will have to accept every phone a tourist can come with.

That’s a very good article!
Another site mentioning the phone and the success of the pre-order campaign:
I also found a well structured and well summerized article about the Next Gen Jolla phone.
Look here: Jolla Phone und Sailfish OS 5: Das europäische Datenschutz-Linux
Over 3700 vouchers sold this far. Thinking we will have many new faces around here next year!

my VATno is valid and can be verified in VEIS, but no field for entering VATno regardless what country i select
You should be able to input your VAT ID in shopping cart page.
I hope that Jolla has already begun to plan the procurement of components and allocating assembly time for the next batches.
It seems that pre-order campaign was quite successful, so I hope that when next batches are being offered, they come with a reasonable expected delivery time, as the factory in Salo cannot churn an infinite amount of devices in an instant…
Only 142 pre orders left to beat the 4k devices mark. ![]()
well yes it is there in Cart, the problem is that i used BUY NOW button what sent me to the checkout page :((
even if you add to cart and then you hit checkout you will miss the VAT field, there is no logical reason to visit cart if you just insert one piece, so most people will go to checkout page directly…
I’ve had original Jolla 1 phone back in 2015. It was OK hardware wise, but Sailfish of was great to use.
So when Jolla started fundraiser for Jolla Tablet I jumped in… and that was it. In 2016 after the Tablet has been canceled I’ve received 10% refund and promise to get remaining part later.
This 'later ’ still is not there… after nearly 10 years.
So I wish You all the best, but just keep calm and hold Your fingers crossed.
Hi all together!
I am quite exited about getting my hands on the new jolla phone and btw: congratulations that there is this big request!
Still, I am - even or especially after reading through this post - confused about the batches and who can expect when a phone.
The website says (while I type this):
3901 phones of 2000 pcs sold.
It will only be produced if 2000 pcs are (pre-)sold.
First batch with 2700 pcs sold out quickly, now open batch #2.
So….
From the 3901 phones, 2700 phones are from batch #1 and batch #2 is limited to 2000 pcs and the offer will automatically close with 4700 sold pcs?
And batch #2 will only be produced if the full number of 2000 pcs are sold, summing up to 4700pcs?
Or was the 2000pcs need for production only valid for batch #1?
Or is everyone who has ordered with a number higher than 2000 already in batch #3?
Sorry, might be clear for some of you, but just from looking at the website it is confusing.
If my first interpretations are right, perhaps it would be better to say on the webiste:
Batch #1 with 2700 pcs sold out. Expected delivery end H1/2026.
Batch #2 open, 1201 of 2000 sold, will only be produced when 2000 is reached, expected delivery time Farfarinthefuture.
Sorry, that this is my first post here…
Looking forward to contribute more useful stuff in the future ![]()
I was thinking of the initial crowdfunding success with the tablet, too. From the two batch approach and everything else I take that Jolla learned the lesson (regarding, for instance preorders from Chinese producers). The J2 story is just a different story and I also keep fingers crossed that this story lasts.
2000 in toto was the limit for starting further development and production of J2. This number was reached with the first batch. I guess there is no lower but an upper limit (i.e. another 2000) for the second batch
You must be clearly new to Sailfish as it’s kind of a long standing tradition with Jolla to make confusing statements instead of spending 5 minutes on thinking through what questions may arise with people that don’t have their secret knowledge. ![]()
