I wasn’t there at that moment
You will sure get it…
I was offered another one on the front-to-back return leg. Declined politely, obviously.
Some of us looked exactly - and I mean iggzackly - like our profile pictures ![]()
I feel stupid now ![]()
I did remove of course the pulltab one but then applied the protection glas. Honestly I would not even have noticed. If there are two layers, they appear to be perfectly aligned. Not gonna ruining the glass film now.
When is the shipping of the J2 beginning? It was said, that it would begin directly after the celebration day…
Batch 1 is expected to be delivered in July; Batch 2 in July-August; Batch 3 in August.
I suppose they will send Batch 1 within a week. But nothing is confirmed yet except the month.
I only realized because the alcohol cleaning pad lifted the upper corner a little bit on the second plastic protector ![]()
I was at the event (#3 in queue), though left early as i wanted to just rest at Hotel on the bed, since it was Livestreamed, watched the stream and well Inari Blue surprise was revealed. I’m already back home, any way to get it shipped? @rainemak
Oh yeah thanks for pointing this out! I noticed that there’s an extra film there on the screen and was wondering if it’s safe to remove it. But I guess it’s better to remove it so the glass gets properly glued, right?
Yes, please remember to remove the extra film from the display before attaching a protector.
The same works for others as well. The film on the display is meant to be removed.
But there are two of them, right? The obvious one with a tab for removing AND an extra one that looks like more like a protective film for usage? I guess the latter one should be left on if one doesn’t have a proper screen protector to replace it with.
Yes there are 2 of them, and yes leave the second one alone if you dont want to replace it with glass.
Hi all
Some questions to the Jolla Phone after having made my first call with it in Helsinki.
- Quick start guide
The url to a user guide (“ UX Framework - Sailfish OS “) leads to a SailFishOS general description (“UX Framework - Sailfish OS“)
Not like a quick guide how to start up first time, buttons, install SIM, charging, etc.. - Battery charger
Some vendors might furnish their branded AC adapter with warnings that other cables/adapters must not be used.
My wife’s Samsung adapter has different output voltages printed on it:
5V/3A or 9V/2.77A, and more.
Isn’t the USB-C interface specified with some source-device negotiation before applying power?
I have the Sony 10V with a Sony adapter for it. Is that approved for use with Jolla Phone?
(Yes, I know normal people would simply try if the plug fits the connector. I am used to industrial electronics and like to check first.) - First time setup:
I skipped the Internet part, and “set up Store account”.
What is that “Store account”, what kind of store is that?
That’s frankly ridiculous to write.
Maybe they haven’t hired a translator since the 90s when chargers actually had the charging circuitry in them, or the like to cover any possible liability (as if that would work).
This is made for normal people. Don’t imagine incompatibilities where there are none.
See also: Charger - what can you recommend?
Store is the Jolla Store where you install Software from.
I brought your first issue to the Community meeting on July 16, 2026 - #5 by jojomen
Do you mean that both films are meant to be removed, even when you don’t want to apply a different protector yourself, or just the one that’s obviously meant to be removed with the pull tab? I ask because people seem to be getting a bit confused about the purpose of the 2nd film.
FWIW, I have successfully used that “workshop protection” film as a screen protector on other devices, but Jolla Phone : First Experiences, Pros and Cons - #241 by lkraav suggests this may not work as well on the Jolla Phone 2.
Even so, if I didn’t plan to add a screen protector I’d keep that film on until it becomes a problem in itself.
