If someone doesn’t want to buy day tickets (they are cheaper if you make even a few trips a day), you should be able to buy single tickets from the busses, metro etc. with a tap-to-pay credit card.
You can buy tickets also with HSL-app and use it to find the best public transit route options to your next destination.
Please note the tap-to-pay and tickets from ticket machines are little bit more expensive than in app or transit card purchased tickets (3,50€ vs 3,30€ for single ride AB-ticket). Tickets bought from R-kioski or Alepa etc., if I understood the latest price changes correctly, should be sold at the lower rate, but they will add small fee on top of the ticket price.
With AB- or BC-tickets you have 80 minutes and with ABC-ticket you get 90 minutes of exchange time and you can finish your current ride even if the time ends while in a vehicle.

I wasn’t disappointed: I assumed the HSL app would install under AAS from Aurora and it did. No problem.

Does anyone has an idea when on the 8th of July the event could start? I’m just planning my travels.
I am not aware of any communications on details of the event, location, precise time etc. as of yet.
For all of us who have to plan the trip it would be indeed good to hear about that rather sooner than later.

Brand new to the forum, but a long time lurker. Am incredibly excited for the Day 1 event, and to explore Helsinki too!
I’m going with 2 of my friends who did not order the phone/don’t have a ticket, would they be able to come to the event itself or no? Asking as I’d rather not completely ditch them if possible!

No. There are a limited number of places for people who bought the phone. There is no +1 on the ticket, and no +2.
You are coming with 2 friends, so I see no problem if you go to the event. They can just hang together?
I’m with 1 friend, and told him I’d be away for one evening. No problem.

those who are interested in staying for a long time period, VR (railway company) has just announced a sub model campaign VR Binge aka you can travel as much as you want for 7-14-30 days
@ohnonot not possible, this event is only for those who have bought the J2 phone …it maybe possible that someone wont make it and can give/sell their ticket

Sorry guys may I am dumb, but let me understand … I am on batch 1 and I do have a ticket. Does this mean they are going to hand over the phone to me on day 1? Or am I getting it via courier anyway? I am totally confused here

there was a post way back that said they were anticipating giving it out in person at the event but maybe things changed due to unforeseen circumstances
