Jolla Phone Community Shipping Tracker

Jolla doesn’t always send a lot of emails, but when they do, they usually send them in bulk.

Hi, I’m in Batch One. After making the payment, you should have received a confirmation email with a new order number.
You should have received two follow-up reminder emails.
Here’s an extract:
“We’d like to remind you to complete your Jolla Phone order – if you haven’t already – or if you fancy ordering some cool Jolla accessories!”
However, there are known issues if the email address for your Jolla account differs from that of your payment service, e.g. PayPal.
I hope this helps.

Hi, I’m in batch #1 Order #607x, fully paid on April 1st and haven’t received shipping confirmation yet.

Different emails on jolla and paypal, but it was the same both for the preorder and the final payment. Haven’t heard back from shop@ regarding my shipment.

thanks a lot everyone for the explanations. I, as already written, concluded the payment on April 20, with the first email received inviting me to do so. I completed my order via the app shop. I received the invoice and I see on the app that the order is confirmed, but I haven’t received any confirmation emails (not even in spam). The pre-order is 717x and the final order is 2316x both paid with the same credit card. I’m waiting for next week, since I should be close to the expedition by now. After so much waiting it would be frustrating to have to wait for some process error…

Sorry to nitpick, but /e/os is still Android, just with a few Google bits removed. About the only Android-derivative I would not count as entirely Android underneath is GrapheneOS, due to how much they customise it, and even then they are heavily reliant on the goodwill of Google for OS updates.

As far as I can see, SailfishOS & Ubuntu Touch are currently the only viable alternatives to Android & iOS for your primary/only phone, and with UT you will have to give-up using Android apps much (or at all).

Different people have wildly different ideas about “basic phone features” (e.g. some consider WhatsApp or NFC payment as basic requirements!), but in general I would say that as long as there are no hardware defects, all problems can be fixed by software updates. You may just need to be patient, as we are basically ‘early adopters’ as far as the OS goes for this new phone, and there may well be some little niggles/bugs present, which I am sure Jolla will fix in time.

Ye, I also think I will keep my Jolla order. As mentioned before, I was late to the party, so many of the things right now that are issues I couldn’t live with, might be fixed before october. (I am Batch 4)

I might in the future but a UT phone just for the fun of it. I really love linux, and my dream would be a linux phone that could handle external monitor and kill the need for a laptop. UT already supports this, so maybe that future isn’t too far away.

I had Ubuntu Touch on a tablet but it was difficult to get apps that depend on Google Play Services to work even though I was using both Microg and Waydroid.
I’m just a regular user and not particularly tech-savvy which may have been a reason why I couldn’t get everything to work.

Got mine today… thank you @Jolla, But there was one ordered item missing. I ordered an extra back plate… the black one, to change the default orange one.

Sorry @Jolla, seem that I didn’t order the black TOH after all… it was just the black bumper, that really was in the package.

Can you elaborate? Some people report issues in getting 5G speeds, a problem that only matters if you live in the same country and use the same operator.

Other than that, I read that it works:

I just updated the tracker.

Just an FYI: I’m currently ill with something viral, updates may be slow or non-existent if it gets worse. Might not be a problem today or tomorrow as weekends are slow in terms of updated entries, but y’all may notice it come Monday if I don’t feel better by then.

Get well soon!
(And some other chars that shouldn’t be there).
@Jolla… please remove that shit. I mean 20…?
Why, when e.g. 5 should be sufficient?

I’ve read multiple guys having issues with phone calls every 2nd or 3rd or 5th time. Either not recieving or their call to someone just dies while trying to dial up.

I searched and read all messages including the words “call”, “calling”, “drop”, “dropping” in the “Jolla Phone : First experiences, Pros and Cons” thread, and could not find reference to these call dropping issues.

I only found this strange situation, with rejected calls with Telia (Sweden?) and VoLTE in particular when reception is very bad.

Which seems to be operator specific rather than the JP2601. I’d say you don’t need to worry too much. If the “first experiences” thread with 1000 messages does not say anything about call dropping, it’s not a common experience, probably a very local situation.
