Jolla C2 - Mobile carrier data NOT WORKING

One more Problem is, this is no offence to the new users btw, but many new, most young users, read somewhere about the “cool Linux-Based mobile OS” and decide to buy the new Jolla Phone, because i am also a cool hacker and a geek! I installed Ubuntu on my Notebook, so i am a Linux professional now!

After they get the Jolla C2, they wonder why they can’t use it the same way they use the previous iPhone/android. “But they promised me, i can run Android apps!” Its a crap, nothing works!"

I see this approach unfortunately also in this forum. Of course - Linux and SailfishOS is for everybody.
But why the people expect, that all what they had on the previous phone will run the same way on SailfishOS.

I think, this is simply because, they doesn’t read about this OS enough, they haven’t asked questions in the forum, they didn’t tried SailfishOS on an older phone (maybe Port)… They simply want to have something cool!

The argument “Jolla have not informed us about all the bugs the SailfishOS has, and all things, which not work” is also a bit funny.

Its a selling ad. No company who make chocolate would advertise that you can get Diabetes from sugar.
Jolla is a company. That is normal, that they advert only the positive things SailfishOS has.
About all bugs and negative things you need to inform by yourself…

So all folks who are not satisfied with Jolla C2 and the state of OS: Just send it back and get your money back. Or sell it here in forum, many guys asked that they want to buy the C2.
This is my friendly advice. I am an SailfishOS user from day one. Before i had Meego on N9, and before Nokia N900 (And before Psion 5mx Pro with EPOC/Linux dual-boot). So i know, what i am talking about. In good hands SailfishOS is more than usable. Its absolutely “daily-driver-ready”. But new Hardware brings always new bugs, which need to be solved. And this take time…

If you are not happy with the speed Jolla fixes the bugs, than you will be also unhappy in the future. Just jump to another, more stable OS.

Want be cool and have Linux in the pocket? Be prepared for the pain! Be prepared to wait, ask, read, solve bugs by yourself. This is the price for it
