Jolla C2 Community Phone deliveries

@rainemak Today I received a message from Jolla that my order will be shipped. Nice, thank you! I got two emails from Jolla Shop. The last one had a button 'view your order". After tapping on it I saw to my astonishment that I was led to a site hosted by shopify. com. Is Jolla coöperating with this e-commerce company? I am asking because we had an uneasy experience with Shopify. They are very skilled in data grabbing.

Be cautious. Mine seems bricked now.
Could not wnable wifi BUT forget to enable dev mode before reboot

I have the same situation as you. Before the fatal reboot, I even tried to enable developer mode. … but without internet connection, it did not work. Now after every reboot, I only get the spinner of death, after entering the correct security code.
My guess is, when I rebooted the first time, after the WiFi settings told me to, the startup wizard startup again and somehow destroyed the home partition encryption .

I also received my C2 by DHL today . Now I want to set it up. But I’m not sure, with all the problems which were mentioned, whether it will work at all. - where can I find a well described procedure / instruction list to set it up.

I experienced exactly the same problem. Unfortunately, I can’t access the phone this way, since after I enter the correct security code, it just charges, but never gets through this task.

See Jollas instructions: Jolla C2 first time use instructions

Just charge it just in case, if you see your wifi during first startup wizard you should be fine, seems like 99% of the issues are correlated with broken wlan (and don’t try to avoid 5+ pin by some workarounds of clicking enter on the optional keyboard, that one seems self inflicted)

I tried to do everything according to it, but the non-working wlan (?) led to the above mentioned error. I think if you’re worried about the device jamming (like ours) then it might be worth waiting. Until there is an official solution to the forever waiting screen after entering the security code, in the event of a Wi-Fi connection failure, the prudent person prefers to wait patiently or try to keep the device on.

Disrupting the workflow - probably. But next time consider coffee and pizza breaks and going home.

Finding a brick before sending all of them out seems like a pretty good idea with 20/20 hindsight.

I promised mine to a VoLTE expert - he home delivered his mother’s used cat to me in August and we started talking about Sailfish. I’m giving him an Aqua Fish to play with and lending him my GS290 and either my 10 II or 10 III for VoLTE purposes. I’ll be fine with my XA2.

This is not in English, but you will be able to catch it. I just got message it will be delivered today to me.

Received mine today and trying very hard NOT to open as at work! Had to pay UK VAT ouch but not surprised. It is taxable and some might be luckier than me. I assumed I would have to pay it so took a hit when I ordered it. I will later today or this week protect it with the covers then open and get some updates after reading the Jolla C2 first time use instructions (for once!)

I just received my Jolla C2 through UPS in Bucharest, Romania. No extra charges to pay.
Looks good, can’t wait to boot it up!

Don’t know whether your C2 included Cover & Screen Protector but Parcel Force charged me 64.55 GBP.

Question for the Jolla team (if anyone reads), are you planning to install the update on those devices not shipped yet?

I would be happy to wait another week if the team unboxes the phones and sends them with the latest version. Call it a secondary quality check or a firewall if you wish.

My charge came to £63.09 (£51.09 Import VAT + £12 Clearance Fee), and equally annoying was the fact that they sent a letter (25th Oct) that only arrived today. Can postal services not do this type of thing by email in 2024, allowing deliveries to be made earlier?

Why would you pay extra charges? Last time I checked, Romania was still part of EU.

True, let’s hope that doesn’t change with the upcoming elections
I mentioned there were no extra charges as a reassurance in case there were still doubts related to shipping costs / VAT / customs inside the EU.
