yeah, what now, wait 2 more years for next update? non-working browser is a no go
What do you mean? You have the J2 with the new browser in your hand?
If not, whats your point?
If yes, I think the new Gecko gives a lot of working websites, at least my tests with the 10ii looks promising. How long the next update needs, is absolutely speculation,
Just tested it with JP2 and works wihtout problems, this new browser and phone works very good, many sites that did not work with older Sony Xperia III + sailfish works now. Even Tesla App navigation service works 100%, very happy
yeah it seems to actually to be usable now…Thank God.
the only issue I found was Spotify login callback thing (other apps might have this issue as well):
what a surprise that some things do not work at 100%…
They squeezed as much as possible in 5.2 to respect the deadline for JP2 release. I am sure there will be 5.2 updates along the way in the coming weeks and I personally expect some rough edges in a few places!
still?

Mostly irelevant on this site anyway.
I find it rather embarrassing and unprofessional when this pops up on their own forum!
Technically it’s not theirs as it’s rented.
We can nitpick all day if we want, does not make it any less embarrassing, though ![]()
It is a bit an anticlimactic yes, but 115 should be a supported version until the end of summer.
Maybe the threshold configured for this forum is very close to latest browser versions?
I completely agree with you.
But there is a workaround: use the SFOS Forum Viewer app instead, which is in the official Jolla store.
Unfortunately, I cannot share a direct link to the app in the store itself because functionality-wise Jolla’s store is straight from the stone age and does not have the option to share an app.
I’m glad that we finally got 115, its the necessary baby steps forwards to get rid of this technical debt, I just hope Jolla keeps updating to next major version with each release.
