Hello Sailfish community, yesterday I got C2 phone. Still discovering how things are working, what Play Store apps are possible to install and what not. One app is Estonian ID app called SmartID. It did install thru Aurora Store and my AppSupport is enabled. App starts, but gives error. Is anybody intrested to test this app and give some concrete answer: not possible to get working or it is possible?
Do you know how the app communicate with the ID-Card? When its NFC - than it will not work. Jolla C2 has no NFC, and all other SailfishOS Phones who have NFC could not path through it to Android App Support.
The app itself do not communicate with physical ID-card. App is like digital version of ID-card, once set up, you can use app to log in into bank etc. Setting up needs physical ID-card connected to PC computer, but computer talks with server and SmartID app also talks with server. What I was able to understand the app needs Google Play Services installed in phone and app also do not support microg version of Google Play Services. I did also write to app developer, how big work it is to make app working on SailfishOS directly or thru AppSupport. But I am not so hopeful they will invest to mutch time into this.
Can you clarify? What sort of error? Can you temporarily change your UI language to English then show us?
I can install it on my C2 without errors. In what phase you encounter errors? I have microG installed.
App installs, but when I start it, gives this error. At first I did not have microg installed, same result. Now I was finally able to install microg and same result. The microg had so many options, that I can turn on. Seems like I can try every option one-by-one or turn them all on any try if this works.
When testing with Waydroid, I had some errors as well. Contacted the company and got a reply that they will not support it in my case. Maybe your error is different and I would suggest you to ask them about it.
I have followed @flypig installation instructions Installing microG on Sailfish OS
I tested SmartID app on my Xperia10 II. I could duplicate your error message by unchecking Playstore (Phonesky) has correct signature. When having MicroG installed properly like described in MicroG instructions I do not have any error messages.
I did follow @flypig tutorial on microg and got SmartID app working, but seems they are very strict about supported opsystems. As they do not support custom ROMs etc. Last screenshot they are banning to go forward.
