I am trying to set up my new C2’s Calendar, importing an .ics file from my desktop.
I have managed to export my desktop calendar to an ics file and transferred this by USB to the C2. I can’t find how to import this to the calendar on my C2.
(I will need to do similar with notes & tasks too, when I find the right apps.)
I was hoping to find a user manual with this information, but when I clicked the link, I get an empty page with a message saying I’m not allowed to access the resource!
Isn’t there a pdf user guide I can download? This is a fairly basic expectation for new users and shouldn’t be this difficult..
The simplest solution for me has always been to use a synchronised account, back when ActiveSync was working for me.
Perhaps this is something you could look into? (Nextcloud works perfectly with SFOS)
On my phone calendar import works out of the box. Just imported an ics from an email seconds ago. Click two times on the ics email-attachment and the import dialog opens.
I thought this was a Linux phone that would enable me to install Evolution (or J-Pilot) which will sync with my desktop. It now looks like I can’t even import calendars or contacts.
None of this is rocket science. J-Pilot which works with my aged but reliable Palm Treo, was written (decades ago) and maintained by one guy, works and syncs with my desktop through USB.
There are many Linux systems.
Linux ≠ Ubuntu, or other compatible WM.
Regarding calendar import, here is one of the GUI methods:
-Plug the phone
-Chose MTP
-Copy .ics to e.g. Documents
-Open Settings
-Scroll to, and open Storage
-Press the user data circle
-Press Documents
-Scroll to, and click your .ics file.
-Click “Import”
-Enjoy
@Hillmorton I would add that once you open Settings →Storage, tap on the User Data circle graph to access the Document folder or wherever you might have saved the imported .ics file.
I say this only because for years I didn’t realise you could proceed past that initial Storage page, what a noob!
I think a replacement for the original official Jolla guide would be welcome. A guide that can be printed. I did that in 2014 but that guide is now considered to be outdated.
